Emily, good to know your surgery went well!

I had my first consultation today. It was nothing like I had expected, was very simple and straight to the point. I got there, gave them my paperwork. They called me in, took my weight, height, blood pressure. Had me blow in a little bag to check for bacteria in my stomach, swallowed some sour tart type liquid, then the doc. came in. Went over my information, explained the surgery and told me I didn't need clearance from my doctor b/c I don't have medical problems except for PCOS. Told me we would wait to do the bloodwork went I go for pre-op. Then I had to do a true or false psych. evaluation which only took a few minutes and then told me once those results come back, which should be by the end of the week, they will call me to schedule the surgery when ever I want. I was surprised everything is able to go along so quick! I was expecting more tests and having to wait for bloodwork results and all to come back before scheduling. WOW!! I'm so excited!!! hehe:thumbup:

hi everyone.. today is my 3rd day banded.. Its so funny how before the surgery I was on liquid diet and I was ok but when I woke up from the surgery my stomach was growling so I have been starving since the surgery lol But I dont feel like drinking I guess thats normal hungry but not to want anything. The hard part for me is the port insicion. It hurts alot and burns I have to press my stomach there as I walk. I hope that passes soon ;) So how are yall feeling? Any of the same feelings?

Hi Emily111! I know what you mean about the port incision. That one hurts and burns on me also. Did you have an incision about 3" on one of the sights? That is the one that is bothering me the most. Got to eat some yogurt today and things seem to be going down better. I think I was trying to get everything down too fast yesterday instead of sipping. Keep up te good work---

Glad to hear all are doing well after surgery. I am coming around but still hurt in the upper stomach and esophagus. Don't know what that is but hope it gets better soon. Incisions don't hurt at all. I was so swollen that my doctor had to get me some meds to calm my stomach down but I am still uncomfortable. Thanks for all the prayers and will be back in a couple of days

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
