Who's the man Obama or MCcain?

I think I'd rather see taxes a little higher than continue to have such a high deficit. Why leave that for our children to clean up someday?

Taxes are going to raise no matter what. if they say they wont raise them they eventually do andf if they say they will they do...all in all, vote for the better person who wants the war to be over, programs for people/kids, and overall is the better choice. Obama. Don't just vote for McCain because you are pissed Hillary didn't get the votes. That's immature especially when Obama and hillary had a lot of the same views...Hillary just didn't get enough votes. Simple as that. Either way this is an election that will be in the history books, and we should be proud, not pissed that hillary isn't the one on the ticket. McCain will do more bad than good.

I'm not sure I'd be voting for McCain because Hillary didn't get the votes. I KNOW her track record to be pro-family and community.

I don't know Obama's track record, other than what I've seen in his campaign propaganda - and I'm not that impressed. I really don't like that he turned his back on his minister. He was a member of the church for 20 years! Then, when pressure is put on him, he backs away. Who's a member of something for 20 years and says that they weren't really that involved in it? I don't like that. Own up to it, don't back-peddle.

I KNOW he cannot possible bring the change he's promising without 1) raising taxes too high for me to afford, and 2) without the approval of the actual lawmakers - which is tough to get with everyone throwing their own agendas into the bill.

All politicians promise things they can't delivery.

I like McCain personally, and have for years. I've also liked Hillary for years. Obama's a new evil that I don't know well enough yet.

Like I said, it's a tough one, and will depend on the VP chosen - on both sides. Another one like Cheney? No thank you!

I would love to see Obama/Edwards ticket, and would like to see Hillary take that dumb Harry Reid's job as Majority Lead in the Senate.

Ug, I would just die if Huckabee were VP!

I think that's a losing ticket anyway... Huckabee drives me crazy! The winning ticket for McCain is McCain/Romney, I think.

It's laughable for him to deny that he never knew the minister's real views, as you said, after 20+ years? I don't think so, unless he wasn't so smart as some claim that he is.... or unless he was actually naive, which democrats claim that he is not.... or unless he did know which it's my guess and he went along with it, he did call him his mentor for many years...I live in Chicago and plenty of people in Chicago knew about that minister and his views, people that never belonged to his church, but this guy was known, his views were public knowledge to many for years, his approval for Farrakahn, etc , so how is it possible that people that weren't close to him knew, but a member of his church for so many years with such a strong connection with him never knew? ....and in my opinion, being part o a church led by that man is shameful, what I have heard that man preach/say is offensive, racist, anti-american...

Hey, maybe Obama "just" recently realized that the minister was wrong, well, I suppose that it's better late than never, but it's dissappointing that it took him so long, and denying that he knew it's simply lying in my opinion. I will add though that is not the only reason why I don't agree with Obama's views or why I'm not voting for him, being republican obviously we disagree on other issues, but if I was a democrat and I could agree with him on everything else, I don't know, maybe I could overlook this incident, but not even sure if I could.. I guess I would have to be in a democrat's shoes to know.

LOL!!!!!!!! A corpse....Oh Lordie, that was too funny........ Romney is a fine looking guy....

But I think I would like to see McCain/Jindal , I've seen an interview with Jindal and the guy is personable, seems so smart, I have to research more on him, but I'm liking him so far..... I have to look into Sarah Palin too.

Well, I'm for Obama, but if he picks Clinton as a running mate, I'll vote for McCain as the lesser of two evils (the other evil being Hillary Clinton.)

I think Rupaul (not Ron Paul, Rupaul) would be a better candidate than Hillary Clinton.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
