i have a 14cc band and had my 3rd fill yesterday. i am now up to 9cc. i think i finally feel some sort of restriction...finally! has anyone ever got up to their band size and still didn't feel total restriction? that kinda scares me...

I only started feeling restriction after my 3rd fill as well, which was 6cc's in a 10cc band, which is about the same as you. i really cant imagine too much more going in at this point...

Yep, know exactly how you are feeling. I was banded in March 2007 with a 4cc capacity band and just had my 7th fill last month. This officially puts me at 4.5 cc's of Fluid in a 4 cc capacity band. You read correctly - I'm currently .5 cc's over the band capacity and am still struggling to find good restriction. I envy those who say they can only eat 2 chicken nuggets or only one or two bites of something...I bet I could eat at least 8 chicken nuggets alone.

According to my doctor, the band can handle way more fluid than the actual stated capacity. One of my friends (who has the same doctor as me) actually has 6.4 cc's in a 4cc capacity band....

I suppose I'm still somewhat in 'bandster hell'...

i was worried about the same thing and just asked my doctor this past weekend... i was told that most people will have more than enough restriction before they reach full band capacity.

I'm at 6cc in a 9cc band (the realize) and have only had 2 fills. I have my 3rd fill next week and I HOPE I will have the restriction I need. Currently I have some restriction but not a whole lot.

Thanks guys! i live about 4 hours from my surgeon so he says he's trying to be a little more aggresive with my fills so maybe i don't need to come back so often. this is the first fill that i've actually felt something. they say not to chug Water but sometimes i forget and do it, especially while working out...and today i can finally not do it without gagging myself...so maybe this is a good sign =)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
