Not to sound sappy, but your post really made me smile Frangipani. It was nice to see someone with a good perspective only 10 months after the fact. I like that you just don't care enough about those trying to get you down to even bother with flipping the bird :tongue2: I think that's great ! I thought I was the only one that was sad about the bathtub not being relaxing anymore. It's not so much that I can't fit into it, just that the Water doesn't completely cover me so sometimes my belly's all cold while my tush is warm. I'd like to be 100% relaxed.

Here's the rest of my list:

1) Fit comfortably in an airline seat (not just my butt, but also my shoulders not hanging into the aisle to get clipped by the sometimes nasty flight attendants with the stupid beverage cart)

2) Not stress out about hurrying into a theme park attraction seat to make sure I can get my seat belt clipped so people aren't watching me fumble with it

3) Only take up more than half the bed because I feel like it, not because I have to

4) Feel confident enough to go on PhD interviews without wondering if my interviewers are judging me as a lazy person who won't succeed

5) Wear shorts

6) Wear a sundress on a hot day (which I don't do now because of all the sweaty chaffing nastiness)

7) Learn how to buy clothes that make a wardrobe of my style, not buy a closet full of the best clothes I can find that fit me

8) Reclaim my sexuality.

8 is the one I'm looking forward to most. I know I could do that now. I know I don't have to be thin to be sexual, but heaven help me I'm just too tired right now. I'm looking forward to the energy, confidence, and, quite frankly, the PHYSICAL ability to be sexual.

I LIKE THAT!! LOL LOL

what goes around, comes around and bites ya right in da ass!! LOL

May I just add....after getting the number of a hot guy, having your friends envy what you've just done, DON'T CALL HIM? That's right...give him the taste of his own medicine, so that when you run into him again in a few weeks (oh, and another 10 pounds down...) he'll ask what ever happened?! Once again, get his number without ANY intentions of calling. Call that big Teddy Bear guy who always treated you with respect instead---the one who never cared about your size.

2) Not stress out about hurrying into a theme park attraction seat to make sure I can get my seat belt clipped so people aren't watching me fumble with it

I remember when I was 18 and went to a theme park for a choir competition. I remember really wanting to go on some of the rollercoasters. So I got in line with some friends, waited for 30 minutes...only to get up there and not even fit in the seat and running down the stairs crying so embarrassed and never wanting to be seen again. The only ride I was able to ride was the stupid ferris wheel and I felt like a total failure right then and there. I am almost 23 now and even bigger now than I was before. A goal for me is to definetly be able to fit in the seats of rollercoasters and not have to walk off crying because I am so huge I can't do that. It was mortifying and ruined the whole trip. I was so depressed.

Cate, you might consider throwing on a pair if bike shorts beneath dresses and skirts. I've been doing it since 1990--long before those Spanx came out. I already owned the shorts for the gym so it didn't cost anything extra. It really helps to avoid chafing. You might also consider using Gold Bond powder before leaving the house. My classroom used to get far beyond 90 degrees and I'd run into the restroom at lunch time to re-apply. No more chafing for me, regardless of the size of my thighs.

My TO DO list once at goal:

1. Respond to a hostess/host, "A booth will be fine, thank you."

2. Not be the biggest person in the room.

3. Regular sizes have so many options. I just want to wander the Misses department at a store for a few hours.

4. Middle airplane seat? No problem. I'll sit there!

5. Wear regular jeans.

6. Banish elastic pants from my wardrobe forever.

7. No more double chin. Sigh.

8. Be okay with my picture being taken.

9. Not hide in the last row when pictures are being taken.

10. Not put my hand up in front of my face when pictures are being taken.

11. Tuck my blouse in.

12. Wear a belt.

13. Wear those pretty bra's, not the industrial strength ones. So ugly.

14. Ride amusement park rides and not hype out about the safetly bar fitting (you know that moment of - oh god, will it or won't it lock?!)

15. Wear a tank top on a hot summer day. I'm so tired of covering up.

16. Be my husband's hot wife.

There was a discussion thread like this one on the "Alli" website when that was the newest thing. Needless to say that drug was/is like every other weight loss lie. I posted something like this...

I want to turn heads when I walk into a room and have the men ask each other "WHO IS THAT?!" I want to wear a pair of jeans and a body hugging white T-shirt and feel HOT! I want to go rock climbing with my family. I want my boys to be proud of me. I want to share clothes with my 17-year-old daughter. I want to order my clothes from Victoria's Secret. That's all for now, more later

I want pretty much the same things you guys want... but two things stick out right now

First, when I was smaller (years and years ago), I was able to sit in an armed chair and put my purse in the chair beside me, that was cool.

Second, to finally be as beautiful as my husband thinks I am.

I want to lock myself in a room for the weekend with DH and have wild hot monkey sex. I want to try out ALL the positions in the Karma Sutra (Yes, I bought the illustrated edition - at books A Million - DH was SO Embarassed). I'm now in the "studying to prepare" mode.

I want to shop in the misses section and wear things that look good on me.

My mother would shoot me, but I want a tattoo right above my derrier.

I want to go on a cross country "Hot Rod" tour with DH in his car (He has a HotRod 1950 Ford) and not be hot and tired and miserable because I'm fat. I want to turn heads and look good in vintage clothes. Right now my left leg wouldn't fit into anything vintage.

I want to do a pin-up photo shoot and surprise DH for his birthday.

I want to learn how to scuba dive. That would be awesome!

I want my kids to not be embarassed to be seen with me. I want them to want to borrow my clothes in a few years when they are teenagers.

Please excuse me if this is a silly question...will someone please tell me what DH represents? I know is has to do with ones husband but what is the "D" for?

Or you can insert any "D" word before "H" (husband). Depending on my mood D can stand for so many things.

Mine is a goal that every woman should have...

I plan on buying the most skimpiest, sluttiest bikini I can find. Go on a cruise with no children in sight. Dock on some romantic island with beautiful beaches and make love while the waves cover our bodies.

As you can see I've thought about this a lot. LOL

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
