NSV Thread for the May Bandsters!

Recommended Posts

Congrats everyone!!!

I have had several "small" NSV's that I can share I guess...

-Some of my tennis shoes (men sizes) that I used to wear were so tight because they don't come in wider widths...now some of them are super comfortable and don't squeeze my feet!

-I recently had to buy new belts because my old belts were just too big!! And at surgery time I couldn't even tighten the first notch on the old belts!

-I don't get out of breath when walking up and down stairs, walking to my car in a parking lot, or walking around for long times.

-I can fit comfortably in a movie seat where the arms don't go up...I used to hate going to the movies because my sides would spill over onto the arm rests and hurt so bad!

-I used to always have to buy extra links for my watches...but in my watch I got last year for my birthday I took out 2 links and it's still a little loose now!

I also had to remove links on my watch. I need to take my bracelets in to get links removed because they now fall off. I am waiting on doing the bracelets and my rings till I am closer to my goal.

The guys at work were giving me a bad time about my pants being baggy. So, I went to buy more. I thought I would just go from a 16 to a 14. I went down to a 12. I just can't seem to get it that I can go to smaller sizes. I have always tried to wear my clothes baggy because I was uncomfortable and I thought it helped hide my fat from everyone.

The last time I bought clothes was for my son's wedding and the dress was a size 30. I just went out and bought some new blouses and they are 22's. Can't wait until I can get into size 12.

WOW 12s! I just bought me some 12s to "work into" but found that they actually FIT!!!

Isn't it exciting!!!! I never thought I would see the day that I could wear a size 12.

Had a fun experience this weekend. It has been hot down here, way to hot for the 1st week in March. The smallest size of capri pants I own are a 24. I went shopping for some new pants. I bought sevreal pairs of pants.... all size 14!! I can't believe it! It was suprising, surreal and mostly fun!:) I really felt out of my element shopping in those sizes...but I think I can get use to it ! The last time I was wearing a size 14 was probably when I was 14!

My most recent NSV is my last doctor appointment. I had to visit a new ob/gyn and of course I had to tell her I had the band.

She told me my weight and blood pressure are "PERFECT" and when she was doing the breast exam she checked out my scars and was like ok so it was laproscopic and if you hadn't told me that you had lapband surgery I would have thought it was gall bladder surgery because the scars match and your skin is great, no excess, no stretch marks. She went on to tell me her father is a Plastic Surgeon and that he frequently does surgery after weightloss surgery but that i don't need it!!!

I was SUPER happy because it just made me feel soooo good!

I am now down to my last bra. I had several really good bras that I couldn't wear. Some were brand new. I was just to lazy to send them back Thank goodness I had at least 1 sometimes 2 bras in different sizes. Well I have gone down 8 band sizes and like I said I am on my last bra. The good thing about this is I can now buy from regular stores again instead of having to order them or go to Catherine's and pray they have my size in store. No more having to spend $35.00-$50.00 per bra. I will spend that if I want to or I can spend $20.00. YEAY!4_1_203.gif 10_1_20.gif

I had my blood work done and went to the liver doctor for the results. For the first time in 12 years my liver counts are normal:smile2:. I do not have to get scoped this year or need a biopsy. I also don't have to go back to see him for a year instead of every three months. Losing the weight has been a bonus, the health issues that have gone away has been my biggest successes. I went to Disneyland with my grandkids a couple of weeks ago and this time I didn't get stuck on the "Alice in Wonderland" ride. 18 months ago I was unable to get out of the ride car, it was so embarassing.

I started back to Curves in December and get weighed & measured every other month. I used to avoid this & only do it a couple of times per year. I lost over 12 lbs & inches in Feb/March! I am the top loser in the club for the very first time. Unbelievable!

The first is I seen 2 people that I haven't seen in yrs. Seen them at different times and both commented on how much weight I have lost and how good I looked.

The next one is I tried on some shirts I have hanging in the closet and 2 more of them fit! YAY ma!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
