I had free fills for 3 mos then they are $100 but they aren't done under flouro. Not sure how much they would be with flouro. I don't know that flouro. is necessary every time. That seems really high.

Janet...I just feel that I want to be at that place in between full and where I am right now. I feel so wishy-washy when I try to explain where I am at presently. During the entire time I have been banded, I have only felt that full feeling twice. Never have pb'd or slimed. There actually are days (like I said above about one day a week) where I feel like I am doing this weight loss thing all on my own. I guess I do know that the answer is to try another fill to see what that does.

I am 2lbs away from goal and believe that if I get a little more of a fill, maintenance will be a little easier for me. Make sense?

Hi tonight to everyone (Friday). I went on 2.4 mile walk today and did pretty well with food today but I am really hungry. I can't imagine eating only 1/2 c per meal. Maybe I will get to that point soon and then really start knocking some weight off. I have lost pretty steady but it is getting slower now. Apples, I think I'll come to your farm and eat dinner. That meal sounds so good that you were fixing. I love to cook and thats why I love to eat soo much. That is why I really need restriction. I do behave as well as I can but I sure could use some help. I went shopping for a while today and tried some things on in smaller sizes. Some things fit, almost fit or didn't fit at all but I am going down in size. Well thats all for now. Catch ya all later.!

I can say that I get full - I mean physically full as long as I am eating hard Protein - last night dinner was 4 oz pork chop - 1/2 c mash potatos and 1/4 c french green Beans - and I was starving - I was full from this meal

but that didn't stop me from eating popcorn (snack pack 100 calories) about hour later - I wasn't hungry I just needed that hand to mouth feeling and taste.

Yep I would get another fill - it's not losing the weight but keeping it off - that's why we got banded - we all have lost weight before - but have NEVER kept it off - that's the reason for the band...

Becky - Me personally I want to eat more than 1/2 c per meal - as you can see by my dinner last night I ate about 1 1/2 cups for my dinner.

I love to cook to - infact last night didn't get home til like 7 was beat and hungry - I really wanted to by junk (candy/cookies at the store) but ididnt

came home was going to have shrimp cocktail for dinner - but knew that in my head that would not feel like a meal to me - so scratched that idea and went ahead and cooked a full meal - for me I need to have a good dinner - that's my main meal - I eat Breakfast & lunch but they are usually light meals - Dinner has always been my most important meal - I guess it comes from my days as a child where my family sat at the table and ate together - I find comfort in dinner..

Good morning. Just a quick check while I have a break. Visit with the folks is going pretty good. Mom's not feeling well today which is putting a kink in our plans but other than that, they've been pretty supportive overall of my weight loss. And it helps that I seem to be on a fast track while they are here. I've lost a pound a day so far. YAHOO!! 74 now. We were going to go up to Estes Park today but may not due to mom not feeling well, but if we do, we drive right by the Coach outlet and DH said we could stop and get my 75 lb reward which is the matching wallet to my purse I got at 50 lbs.

As to portion size, I do eat the 1/2 cup most of the time. And I am usually very satisfied with it and feel full. The only times I'd say I didn't is in social settings when I want to sample different foods etc. and I can't. But then again, that's a good thing as I would tend to graze way too much. And I always eat my protien first to be sure I get that in.

Wow...1/2 cup satisfies you. That is great. I can eat as much as I want. I am not losing or gaining, just waiting to reach the happy zone. I have had 2 fills so far. I have 5cc's in a 10 cc band. My next fill is Oct 22nd. Hopefully the weight will start dropping after this next fill. I am struggling right now to maintain. Congratulations on your weight loss. :)

Thanks Janet, Each and everyone of my meals include at least 3-4 oz of Protein that comes from meat with the exception of my Greek yogurt that I eat in the morning because I just plain have to get it in and I am a little tight. It has 15g protein and I know it probably goes right through but as least I am getting my nutrients. I will take your advice and schedule a fill. Been on the fence long enough

Ended up in the ER for half the night last night. Took a dose of Tylenol liquid PM about 9pm. We went to bed about 11pm and right off the bat I knew I was not going to get sleep last night. My tongue got thick and I could hardly get my words out. Then started the extremely anxious feeling throughout my chest. That feeling would then spread down my arms and then they would jerk uncontrollable. This would happen every 10-15 seconds. After awhile I called into the nurses station and she had me come in.

They think is was an allergic reaction to the liquid Tylenol. They kept me for a few hours, gave me something to calm the episodes down and knock me out. Well, made the 15 mile trek back home and they started up again. Did not settle down until 5am. Weird! Today I feel like I've been through the mill.

Hey apples, hope you are feeling better tonight (Saturday). I used to have similiar attacks like that and they always happened at night. It turned out to be anxiety attacks for me but got rid of it and I don't have them anymore. Janet, I just want to say that I don't think I could get through this program so easily right now if it wasn't for this thread. I went and walked today 2.4 miles. I am getting that in every day but I am fighting this hunger thing, This morning I made egg beaters with a slice of fat free cheese on it. That helped some but then I cleaned, etc. etc and then walked and was hungry again. Had a hamburger patty with no bun for lunch and a salad. tonight went out for dinner and had salad and a 5 oz piece of grilled chicken. I had Protein three times today and it is evening and I am hungry again. I am going to talk with Dr on Tues but he is the boss if ya know what I mean. What he says, goes. We will see. I think that walking is helping me alot also and believe it or not it still makes me very tired. there is a really steep hill that accounts for 1/4 of the 1.4 mile walk and I do it twice. That hill kills me. Sometimes I walk fast, slow, fast, slow and man does that do me in. My daughters think I am doing good though.

See ya later friends,

Beckyo:lol:

Yep, Becky, feeling much better tonight. That episode I had last night wiped me out for the entire day. But, after I made the guys supper, I made six dozen Cookies and had a hard time sitting down so I think I am back to normal

Sounds like you are getting some excersize in. Keep going after it, Becky, it gets easier with every workout. Before you know it, you'll be at the 50lb spot. A nice milestone.

Have a good Sunday everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

Janet, I am just checking in. I have been enjoying navy Beans again. That is my new favorite food. I did try to eat a piece of toast today and it got stuck. I can eat hamburger Buns, biscuits, rolls, and tortillas, but not bread. I have one more week until a fill. I really need one.

Hi All,

Just checking in - I was in DesMoines for a large quilt show over the weekend. Had a lot of fun with my quilting friends who went with me, saw beautiful quilts and shopped the vendors. Lots of trouble with my ankles, back, and right knee - December can't come fast enough to suit me. I am so anxious to improve these joint problems. Walking is bad, standing is worse, and in crowds of people you just can't get the walking rhythm you need to make it any easier. It was rough. It made me more careful about the money I spent, though - I always had to decide if I was willing to carry whatever I was tempted to buy!

Sounds like everyone is plugging along. I hope your episode is well behind you, Apples. That sounded really scary. It did sound like an allergic reaction - is there a substitute for liquid Tyelonol? I'm not sure I would want to try that one again. Think I'd rather have the headache.

Y'all be good now.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
