Apples - writing always helps me to express my feelings. We are all here, feel free to write.

When my mother passed away it was like an emotional toilet overflowed. Does that express how you are feeling??? It was awful. A hugh mental cleanup was necessary and that takes time.

Know that others are sending positive energy your way.

Janet...no shopping. Actually just at home today muddling through life. Don't mean to be a "Debbie Downer" but really struggling. Too many emotions to deal with and just plain pissed off about too many things, sad and just plain depressed. And, the fact that I have not slept in two nights does not help with keeping my emotional balance in tact.

Again...to everyone of you. Thanks for the comfort and support.

Girl, you keep us all going on our journeys. You take as many Debbie Downer days as your need. That is all the part of grieving. Vent too......whatever helps you......we are here for you. My in-laws died within two months of each other. We had a hard time grieving because we were caregiving or planning funerals. It has been five years and now we don't speak to DH's sister and DH's brother has just started speaking to us. There is too much stuff that has gone on in five years to explain. Most of it is due to unresolved conflicts his parent's caused. Hopefully, one day we will have peace in the family again.

I wish I could fix your pain. I will being praying for you. HUGS and Lots of LOVE! arlene

Hi gang, I got behind again and it takes a while to catch back up... Just had a busy day and evening yesterday with Lenten services and all.... and then Mimi came at 6:30 am today.... I was so tired that I sat on the couch with her and dozed while she watched her Little Bear... She would smack me everytime it was over so I could put on a new one..... I wasn't really sleeping, just resting I guess.... I got up to go to the bathroom and came back to her tipped over on the couch asleep..... They look like such angels when sleeping!!!! Then it was time for my show (Young and the Restless) so I sat and watched that... finally time to check in here.....

Melissa, sorry you still are having vehicle problems.. They are such a nuisance.. And about your plateau... I've been doing that for months... It's hard to break, but it can be done... If feel like I'm on the verge of something now... We'll see...

Phyll, you know I can sure relate about the pain and bringing one to crying... It's just plain awfull..... My sympathies.. Hope it is better soon.... WTG on the size 16..... That's fabulous

Cheri, how's everything today...??? I hope that saurkraut has left your system to do no more damage.... More problems at work makes for stress.... Take it easy..

Janet, that boss had a lot of nerve asking you to work Friday... They can't have it both ways!!! good for you...

Eva, loved the cards... My artistic talents don't go in that direction at all.... How do you get the ideas?? The massages are okay, but don't know if I think they are helping at all.... Hope your back is better soon, too....

Shan, WTG on your bootcamp, too.... It's great what a few pounds can do to our determination...

Arlene, hope all your cleaning works and you don't get sick... And hugs to your daughter during this pregnancy.. Hope she won't have to have bed rest....

Lori, the pictures are wonderful... DH is a doll and you look so happy together. And you look fabulous... Going to make a beautiful mother of the bride in a few days....

Laura, congrats on getting into new pants.... I'm pulling for you to get back into your exercise plan.. Wish I could.... I don't even do what I can do lately... No excuses, just don't even think of it most days....

Apples, take care of yourself.... we love you.....

Well, time to do something constructive around the house here... Don't know what yet.... There are a few dishes to wash and supper to plan... Nothing special I guess..... Take care all and have a great day...

YYTL.......... Julie

Thanks, Joyce...but, be careful what you ask for with me writing my feelings. You girls don't even want to hear what I am feeling right now. Very long and complicated story. All I can say is that I am at peace with my life and what I have done with it and the person that I am and how I treat others. That's what life is, right???? Oh my gosh...I just figured out the meaning of life. Be right back...gonna get it a patent....

Thanks, Arlene for the kind words. Funny how families sometimes get ripped apart after the death of parents. A little info...the ripping happened 15 yrs ago with mine. Out of respect for the dead and not wanting drama caused at my dad's funeral, I am sitting here as the funeral is taking place. Same routine as when my mother passed away 4 yrs ago. I don't want to send the wrong message to all of you. Nope, not a cold-hearted "B" that does not attend her parent's funeral. Just a smart girl that knows what would take place if I were there.

I am left to deal with this in my own way. Not an ideal situation but to know me is to understand that I will take it all as it comes my way, feel it and get on with life. Thanks for caring

Apples. take care of you and yours, that's your #1 priority. As others have said you are loved and in our thoughts. Deal with all this the way you can handle it. No ones place to judge you, they aren't God.

Lori, great pics.

Janet, I am not dealing with quitting the cigs very well. Can't get beyond the times when I am bored. Wearing patch all day don't have a smoke. At night I don't seem to be able to JUST SAY NO. have cut back majorally. Not sure if I am ready or if these Patches will work. It's a head problem I think.

Also just found out the guy I was dating for 9 yrs has a brain tumor. Don't know much else he passed out and had a seizure. One of his friends called and told me the other day. Lots of mixed up emotions swirling in my head right now.

I will deal.

Laura K

Ah Apples, sounds like you are knowing what the right thing for you to do is and you will get through this, it just sucks right now being in the middle of it. Vent away, no one here is going to judge a thing, that's not our job, we are here to support you.

Just got home from an almost 3 hour lunch at McD's. LOL We went there because my friend had to eat quick and get home to vaccuum and get ready for carpet cleaners. OOOPS, we just yakked and yakked. Guess now her husband gets the job as she had to go to work. LOL It was fun to catch up.

I am still really feeling the jet lag. I am so sleepy in the middle of the day and then wide awake about 330am.

Thanks for the comments on my pics, yep DH is a tall one, he's 6'6 (my son is 6'8). I wasn't sure about posting the capri one as it shows my fat calves. LOL But I gotta get over that.

Thanks Lori...actually, not in the middle of anything. I will not allow that or set myself up for that. I have totally distanced myself from them. What I am in the middle of is grieving (yes, even though he was a tyrant) and also grieving for what could have been. As I stated...I will work through everything and allow things to settle down.

Anyway, just appreciate you and all of the girls here. Can't get much better support and concern than you guys have provided the last few days. And, I thank you for that.:blushing:

Can anyone say "stress eating"? Good thing I have some room to grow. Cereal, ice cream, Snickers, Rollos, sesame sticks, Cheetos, etc., etc., etc.,

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
