Who's getting banded in June

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I was so happy to find this web site and all of you June Bandsters. My surgery is June 11th with the Pre-Op on June 5th. My 10 year old daughter will be away at camp the week of the surgery so she won't have to know and worry. Only my parents and two friend know about this. Is any one else keeping it kind of secret? I am so excited and yet sometimes so embarrassed. It's like I have to face the reality of my size even though I am acutely aware of it every minute of every day. I'm getting so nervous, but I keep thinking that in a year from now I will have my life back. Good luck to all of you!!!!

Aloha,

I received my approval letter, and have a set date for June 10th. I will be banded in San Fransisco under the care of Dr. Cirangle. He is awesome. He has answered all of my questions and has made me feel at ease about this procedure and that I am making the best decision of my life! I am a bit nervous about going through with this, I guess it is just nerves, but i am very excited that it is happening. I can't wait to get my life back, my health better.

I have not had my surgery date yet, not until June 17,08. It depends on where you are having your surgery done. I am going to Mexico because my insurance won't pay and it is more than half of the expence. My Dr. requires that if you have a body Max index number of 45 or above, you need to go on a "Liver Shrinking Diet". In the USA I think they are more strict with pre opt diets. The liver shrinking diet is High Protein and low carbs,

I am new to this forum and website...but I am also being banded on June 25th. I will be at VCU in Richmond, VA with Dr. Maher. I have been through the initial consult, psych eval, pre-surgery weightloss (21 pounds) and got my surgery date this Thursday. I am going in for pre-op on the 17th and surgery on the 25th...I am excited and ready for a new phase!

Jennifer:rolleyes2:

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
