I have only been banded 3 months and my period is alot heavier and last longer. I don't know if it has anything to do with it or it is just a fluke.

I was banded just over two weeks ago, and just started, my flow is the same, but I feel sooo bloated! I think maybe it's because I had just started noticing the weight loss and now feel like i gained it back.( I haven't though, i am still losing) Just seems weird I never noticed bloating before.

LOL ok I was thinking the same thing. My flow was 2 days super light.

Now it is heavy the first 2 days and light on the 3rd day.

I attribute it to working out. Blood flow and everything is better so I thought it has made my TOM heavyier.

Still less then most people I know. But heavy for me.

I hadn't had a natural period for about a year- but 6kgs down and 3 weeks into my weightloss I am in the middle of the heaviest period I have ever experienced. it's reassuring to know that many people have noticed changes!

I'm a couple of months out, and my periods have been rather "messier" than before; heavier at the outset, but getting lighter sooner and ending earlier.

It could be coincidental, as I'm not exactly a spring chicken.

DITTO to that.

I have what my friend Charlie calls, "natural Seasonale." I only have 2-4 periods a year because of PCOS and other hormonal issues. Now that I am down by 30lbs, all of a sudden I have one.

Keep track Clare, and see how it goes in the future. Weight causes a lot of issues (or exacerbates existing issues). Losing weight could be very helpful in this area.

Losing weight seems to have sparked off some real menstrual difficulties for me, one of which includes possible endometriosis on my sciatic nerve.

I've always had light periods and dont bleed very heavily but at the moment am very concerned that its day 5 and still going, as my periods usually last no longer than 3 days. I've still got pain and cramping too. Sigh. Dont wanna have to deal with this really.

I'm worried about that myself. My periods were always 3 days long. I could never get pregnant before when I wasn't on the pill with my ex husband. I now think its because I was over weight. Now when I'm closer to goal weight I think I'm going to have to be more careful with birth control and expect longer periods.

My period was regular, 28 days to the day, and then, on the day of my surgery got it. 4 days early. Then, didn't get it for nearly 6 weeks later, and I panicked that I was pregnant just after getting the band. I wasn't. Then, got it 3 weeks later, and finally in April, it went back to normal.

Now, I get really bad cramps and visible weight gain. Weird because I had never had that problem before. I get cramping on day 2 and 3, and then its over and the period is over by day 4.

Doctor said that peoples cycles change and mine coincided with the lap band surgery.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
