Bartender/Waitress & TT?

Guest JSIL

Hi, just wondering if anyone is in either the bartender/waitress industry and had a Tummy Tuck? How long did it take you to feel good enough to go back to work?

I'm neither, but any good PS' office will give you the details - I think it's about the same for anyone who works. My daughter had a TT and it was horribly painful - she cursed the day she did it, UNTIL she was better and it has been years now and she still looks fantastic. She was not heavy, she just had 4 babies!

I had liposuction only - don't understand why Doc did it since I was heavy, but for me that was so painful, I am too chicken to think about a TT just yet, if ever.

Best, Helen

JSIL good luck with that. I wish you all the best. I was a cocktail waitress...loved it, worked a grand club and made obscene money. That was then, this is now. I'm starting to mentally prep myself for the multiple procedures I will have done. I'm not at goal, still probably a year out the gate from any surgeries but I'm seeing my stomach and breasts and arms and KNOW that I exercise alone ain't gonna do the job.

AGain..LUCK!!

I am 3 weeks post op and very tired still. I would think if you are on your feet and need to stand upright that it would take at least 4-6 weeks to get back into the swing of things. Also, keep in mind that you may have drain in too. I had one drain out 2 days post op and the other one almost 3 weeks. The Tummy Tuck isn't sore or anything like that, its just tiring.

JSIL, I am a N-ICU nurse and was off work for 4 weeks when I had had mine done, I should have taken off 6 weeks but ran out of time. The worst part of the post of period was being so tired!! The longer you can take off the better.

Sorry to hear about the cancellation...but I don't think you want a sick PS operating on you. I say that now but I would be freaked out if mine calls in sick!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
