Hang in there I know you can do it! I use Slim Fast low carb shakes. I mix containers of baby food fruit with them. The mango with a vanilla shake tastes a little like egg nog if you put nutmeg in it. I mix banana and chocolate or banana and vanilla. It is a convenient way to get some pureed fruit without a lot of mixing and not bad calorie wise.

Hi there,

We were banded the same day! I've been very hungry this week, and have been avoiding Protein shakes like the plague. Cottage cheese and 1% milk have been my saviors. I bought some unflavored whey powder last night at GNC to try and get more Protein (I'm sure I'm falling waaaayyyyy short). I'm going to try it tonight in a faux lasagna (fauxlasgna?) and I hope it works!

im a sundevil...

try the Isopure drinks that you can get a Vitamin shoppe or GNC, etc. they have 40 grams of Protein per 16 oz bottle and are really good. be careful w/ not getting enought protein... you can possibly stand the chance of having some of your hair fall out...yikes!

I too drink Isopure. I was a big soda/coffee drinker so the isopure give me that bottle in the hand feeling. I also made a Soup that has saved me. I used chicken broth/stock and loads of veggies. wwhen the soup was cooked I pureed it. It hits the spot when I am hungry. Sometimes I add a little low fat parm. cheese or part skim mozzarella. If you want a better recipe I can send you one.

The above posters are correct. I have made a delicious chicken salad twice. I used chicken, dried cranberry (a few) and light canola mayo. I used my pampered chef chopper and chopped it very fine. Yummy! I can't tell the difference in the mayo at all, but I wasn't a big mayo eater before.

I was banded April 7,2008 in Monterrey Mexico by Dr. Zapata. I am so looking forward to mushy food next week. I am a diabetic so I can't eat mashed potatoes which I have read a lot of people depend on to satisfy hunger. Any diabetics out there with some other suggestions?

Hi everyone,

I was banded March 27th too! I got sick of Protein Shakes real quick. I am not supposed to have mushies until day 21 which is in 6 days. I have started early to satisfy my hunger. It has been 11 days and I am down 13 lbs. I have bounced back very quickly and am doing great with the very well blended foods. Good luck everyone!

With your mushies try and have something really high in Protein like chili, tuna/chicken salad. That should help.

Ok, I'm only five days out of surgery and now you have me looking forward to mushies so I can eat Chili and chicken salad with my mashed potatoes and scrambled eggs. I'm starving too!!

Hello,

I was banded on 3/12 and I have been effing up from the about day 10! I know I am going to get blasted for this but, I have been eating regular foods. I can't eat as much and have eaten too much only twice and that was as miserable feeling. I went to get my first fill on this past Wed and was told to do liquid until Friday. My Dr. said I have a new band that has a flatter port, and he was going to have fun trying to fill it! That worried me, however he assured me that he wouldn't have any problems. Well, I ate my first solid meal today and put down a whole ribeye (8oz) and some steamed cabbage with 2 thick slices of tomatoe! He said he put in 3oz of Fluid but that it holds 4oz. I am going to see if he can't give me the entire four next time. Has anyone else experienced this?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
