Recommended Posts

I just received my date of May 23. My preop testing is May 15. So far I haven't been told of when or if I have to the liquid diet. I have been looking for good liquid foods for after the sugery. It doesn't seem to be real. 12 days and counting.....:welldoneclap:

Yay for another person sharing my date!!!!!!! Good luck to you.....I am also still in disbelief but I am getting so excited!!!!

Hello everyone. My surgery date is also May 22nd. For everyone on the liquid diet now, how is it going?

I am doing pretty good with it. I get really hungry when I get home and am fixing dinner for my 18 month old daughter. I have actually had 1 bite of something everyday since I started, but it has been high in Protein, not that I am trying to justify it. Last night was a bite of chicken. The thing is, after the 1 bite of chicken and then the Protein shake, I am miserably full.

Today I am committing to only liquids like the doctor ordered.

I'm on day 5 of liquid diet, I have to confess I had cheated three times over the weekend (all just Protein like you sshaw), but surgeon of course reminded me yesterday that if he opens me and my liver hasn't shrunk he won't do anything. *sigh* so I'm trying VERY hard to stick with it. It's not too bad, but really, I don't think I ever paid attention to food commercials so much before. Hoping this is just one more thing that reminds me why I'm doing this, addiction to food much you think?!? Ha ha. Of course I didn't think it was that way until I couldn't have any. 9 days to go...I get to check in at 8am on the 22nd, hopefully that means surgery sometime in the few hours afterwards. Trying to get work all caught up before I leave for two weeks!

I feel sorry for everyone on the preop liquid diet. I only have to do it for 24 hours before surgery. I honestly don't think I could do it any longer. I am getting very nervous about surgery.

Only 8 more days (well really 7 right) until surgery time. Hope everyone is as excited/nervous/excited again as I am. I feel like it's hard to focus on anything else I am doing. YUCK. Only one more week of liquids.< /p>

Hi Everyojne. My dates the 22nd also. And doing the 2 week liquid diet. So far only one small bite of turkey breast in 7 days. But 11 pounds gone. My doc said he will test me before surgery to see if I have cheated. If I do no surgery! So I am trying very hard not to cheat. the liquid diets ok.. Just some of the side effects are not so fun...

I'm in Cleveland, TN, not far from Chattanooga. So we aren't that far apart. Dr Paynter is my doctor. I am getting more nervous everyday!

One week from today, gang! And I know I'm ready, because this morning while getting ready for work I had a million things cross my mind and not a single one of them was band related. That's the first time in nine months when all this began for me. Let the countdown begin!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
