As I get ready to begin my journey with the band, I am trying to figure out what people are using to puree food when they get to that stage. There are so many different blenders and food processors out there I would appreciate some input as to what works the best. Thanks

I really wanted a Magic Bullet however $50 seemed steep so I went with the Sunbeam Kitchen Assistant. It was under $25, and came with a TON of storage containers that have come in really handy!

I love my Bullet - I use it everyday. (right now I am using it 3 times a day)

I got the magic bullet for Christmas in anticipation for my banding. I expect it will come in very handy. I was just banded 4/1

I use a hand blender, or as we call it....boat motor. It does it all very well and the price was right. I wish I had this when my children were on baby foods. I would have saved a lot of money not buying store bought foods. Good luck to you!

I have the magic bullet, and I was satisfied with it. But I got a vita-mix and have been in love!!! This thing purees anything in a few minutes. I have made something every day for the last 2 weeks with it!! It is well worth the cost.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
