What a great start Nyke! 40 pounds in 5 weeks! That is amazing work!

okay, you do not deserve to suffer. No one deserves to suffer. You are a person with intrinsic value, and because you have value, you only deserve the best. Please find some positive affermations and read them every day! It really makes a difference. I know that chronic pain plays terrible games with your head. I used to wear my pain like a badge of honor. I didnt' realize it, but that is what I did.

Buy yourself different types of bottled Water until you find one you do like. I personally cannot stand the tap Water here in Idaho, it's ... horrible. I've tried to filter it, but still, yuck! I find that the different bottled waters all have their own subtle flavors, and currently really like the Earth20 brand. Partly because I can get it in gallon jugs. The well water at my mother's place is terrible, but the well water that my sister had at her old place was WONDERFUL.

Good luck finding a water you like! It's important!

I don't want to sound like I'm jumping on you here...."water" is to the body like "oil" is to an engine....and "oil" is not the same as "transmission fluid" or "power steering fluid" or "antifreeze"....

WOW!!! What a great analagy! I've never thought about it in these terms, but that is a great way to explain it! I hear by announce my intent to steal this thought! It will go along way to explain in terms my boy-ohs can understand. Water is generally my prefered beverage, but getting them to drink it...

Nykee,

Have you tried drinking Crystal Light? The orange and the lemonade flavors are really good!! I don't like drinking plain Water either so this has really helped me. I also drink iced tea (mostly for the caffeine :). That is fantastic that you have lost 40 pounds!!!! I lost 15 my first 3 weeks out of surgery, and now the last 2 weeks on solids, I have gained 2.5 back!!!! I too am anxiously awaiting my first fill next Wednesday! Best of luck, and try the Crystal Light!

Monica

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
