We're pretty much in the same boat....I feel the same way.

I'm truly not hungry....but I want to CHEW something!

I can start on mushies next Tuesday and I'm sooooo eager to do that.

My dietician said I could eat thinned cream soups....I've been doing cream of chicken and split pea thinned down, but at least there is some flavor.

I have also been having Malt o'meal and Cream of Wheat thinned with evaporated skim milk.....that's actually quite filling for me right now.

Pacific Foods makes an incredible creamy Soup flavor Butternut Squash and it's only 2g.fat per serving. I have been enjoying those! In my opinion, I think what they want you to stay away from are heavy creamed Soups with cream in them like clam chowder or potato chowder. Some soups can have a hig fat content in them that are also very thick. Double check with someone else- but these have been good for me!

I make 1 serving of cream of wheat which is 3 Tbs of the dry mix cooked and then I thin it down with skim milk and add Splenda brown sugar blend to give it a nice sweet taste and then to boost the Protein of it, I added 1 scoop of unjury unflavored Protein. Made a nice Breakfast other than drinking a shake.

The packaged creamy potato and cheddar broccoli Soup mix (like Mrs Grass or Bear Creek) are good and they do come out thicker with some chunks in it so I just added it into the blender with some extra skim milk to thin it down and chop the chunks into bits. Tasted good to me.

I had my surgery on 3/18 and was also told to stay on a Liquid Protein diet. It also consists of Cream of chicken Soup, Cream of Brocolli, Lentel gently blended, Split Pea soup and sugar free pudding. I sure hope that helps you. Even with eating all of the above I still find myself hungry about every two hours or so. I dont think the liquids stick in the band very long. Next week I am looking forward to adding a few new things to my diet.

After 1 week out (and going agaist doctors orders) I started adding scrambled eggs with cheese and sauted sausage, mashed potatoes with gravy and very small roast beef chunks, unblended Soups I started eating raisen bran for Breakfast about 2 weeks ago. I am now 32 days after banding, just got my first fill this afternoon, have lost 36 lbs and the doctor says I'm doing super. I've been doing real food (steak, corn, hamburger), etc for about a week, much smaller portions, chewed very well and eaten slowly and even had a chicken soft taco for lunch today . Perhaps I didn't follow instructions, but I am losing weight and doing great and don't feel deprived at all. I feel full and satisfied with about 1/4 of the calories I ate pre-banding. I am not telling you to cheat, just telling you what I did.

The reason for following the rules post-banding is healing. Letting things seat or scar in place. There isn't a lot of stitching there and it is to tissue. Thin, cream, low-fat Soups, are usually fine. No chunks in them. All doctors have different rules for that first few weeks after surgery. by all means adhere to his or her rules. No lifting, pushing or pulling is advised either. You don't want to upset your port. You want these things to heal and seat or scar into place for your future band care. After going through all this, take care of your band, and it will take care of you. It is tough but once it is over and it will be sooner than you think, you will be on your merry way. Some get away with cheating, some suffer for it. I wouldn't want to chance being in the latter group. Hang in there, you will soon be on your way to a happier, healthier, thinner you. Hang in ther guys. sugar free hot chocolate is a nice change for a liquid, and it may even help your sweet tooth.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
