It might kick in later, but probably you'll need more fill. I didn't have restriction with that little Fluid in my band, which also holds 4cc.

It's normal to not feel restriction after your first fill. I did, but I also had restriction with no fill (uncommon). A friend of mine with the same band size as me (4cc) needed almost 3.5cc before she felt any restriction, whereas I needed unfill when I went beyond 2.5cc.

Give it a week or three, see how you're feeling. If you don't have restriction, set up another appt.

I just had my first fill, and I am quite disapointed!! prior to my fill, oddly I had restriction. I felt food getting stuck and I could only eat a little bit. Well, my first fill was this past Tuesday, and now I feel like I can eat a horse! My doctor told me to go on a liquid diet for a few days and I didn't because I really wanted to test my restriction. Surprisingly, I have NO restriction. I haven't eaten this much since before my surgery. I don't believe he filled me with anything! if anything, he took whatever I had in there out! "Unpleased" :)

I have a 4cc band and currently I'm at 3.2 with really good restriction. Keep going back until you have good restriction. Some people can lose weight at 1 cup of food 3x a day. Others like myself tend to be tighyer to losr 1/4 to 1/3 cup of food. Good luck.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
