Kelly, you can probably answer the question better than anyone since you know your band so well. You probably should have stuck with Clear Liquids to give everything a chance to settle. Try warm broth or tea later before getting too worried. It often takes time to feel a fill, so maybe it will take time to feel the unfill, too.

Cold/ICY = greater restriction. If you already have too much restriction, you should stick to warm/hot beverages.

I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but that's the way it goes...

I didn't keep it down...and regarding the cold stuff I am such an idiot, I knew that! I am going to get some chicken broth for supper tonight and see how that goes.

My unfill was .4, I think. It made a big difference, although I really wasn't having real trouble eating. My problem was reflux.

I think you may have some swelling or irritation still from the days you spent too tight. Be very gentle with yourself over the next few days and I'll bet you'll be fine. :)

I went and got some Pepcid AC chewables for the reflux this afternoon. I was able to drink some chicken broth and tiny sips of Water. I also took some Maalox earlier. I am praying for no night time reflux tonight. Thanks everyone for your input!

Yes, you can get it after. But I was fine last night, I drank a little bit of Water and it came back up, but I am thinking that it was cold and that was why, the broth stayed down. I don't feel like I have something stuck in my throat like I have been having the past few mornings. Thanks everyone!

My doctor fixed a h. hernia during my band placement and I had no indegestion until about two weeks ago when my fill was too tight and I pbd everything for about 10 days, now since I've gotten an unfill, I'm still getting indegestion, I'm afraid I've caused another hernia, boohoo.

When I pb alot - that area gets sore through the day and onto the next.

Since Ive had this 2nd fill, I have to drink my Water at room temp, if I dont, I get a big discomfort in my chest - and sometimes have to pb that drink of cold Water.

Are you still able to keep down warm broth (or anything warm)?

I drank some warm Water and a sip of tea earlier and I just threw it up. I called the office and they told me to do liquids for 4 days and see how it goes. I guess if by Friday I am not doing any better I can haul my butt to Houston or just wait til Monday.

Hi Kelly, I think you are still swollen. I have this issue with every fill I have gotten (3). I had .3 put in on Thursday and went today to have .2 removed because I thought I was dying Friday Night. I too was regretting getting the Lap Band. I couldn't keep even Water down, I threw up so much that night that it scared me. I asked my Dr. about slippage and he said the chances are low because the people who have to worry about slippage are the people who throw up two -three, maybe four days in a row, but since I have only done it on the days he filled me to tight, I should be ok. But now, everything is calming down and I am able to drink now. Stay on liquids for a day or so and then try eating. Good Luck!!

Tina

Hey Kelly. I have a whole thread on this, I had the exact same problem. I had .7 taken out 1.7cc's on Monday (Yesterday) and it still hurts a little in the band area. It's gotten somewhat better through today, though. Stick w/warm liquids. If you look in Fills, my saga starts with "Got Filled on Monday... You can pm me if you want. Also, I had so much removed, but I still feel like I just got a fill! Only now, I can actually keep down Water, Soup & tea. And no reflux. That really scared me. When we're swollen, it does take several days to go down. Keep us posted.

Best,

Karen

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
