Today was my 2 week anniversary. Decided I would temp fate and have a little chicken (been hungry). Well, did I learn a lesson. pureed stuff and liquids have been going down without a fight, but tonight was a dinner with some out of town relatives and decided I would join in. I was at the table chewing on some chicken when all of sudden felt like my chest was gonna explode and thought for sure I was gonna throw up all over the table. Everyone could see it on my face. Had to sit there for a minute then walked into the kitchen hovering over the sink. Thankfully I did not throw up, but learned a lesson. DO WHAT THE DOCTOR TELLS YOU. Only one more week and I can start with solids, but I will wait longer for chicken......

I 'experimented' last night and am also paying the price today. My weapon was scrambled eggs which I normally despise. I was soooooo hungry I scrambled 5 eggs & added a little grated cheese. It went down really good, but when I stood up it felt like someone punched me in the gut. Still hurts today. Just really wanted to find out where the limit was - how much can you eat before it triggers that full feeling. Not doing that again! Good luck!!!

Lisa:

I checked out your blog. Very interesting. You're quite talented with all of the graphics.

Congratulations on your weight loss. Keep up the good work. It's so worth it!

I weigh just a little less than you, but I've been as high as 324 (yucko) and 209 feels much better than 324. In fact, 209 feels better than 215, 214, 213, 212, 211, and 210. Every pound helps.

Sue - thank you so much! Glad you like my silly little blog! it's been a fun hobby. :) I can't believe how much weight you have lost - that is AMAZING! Right about now I can't wait to be 209! I agree - every little pound helps...heck, every 0.2 of a pound helps! Looking forward to seeing you around here and my blog!

When I started mushies, I called to ask about this, and our patient coordinator said that on mushies, not only do you have to blenderize scrambled eggs after cooking, but that even after being over a year out, she still has trouble with simple scrambled eggs. So, please be careful...

Was it because you didn't chew enough? How long did it take for you to feel better? Did it come back up? I'm being banded next month.

My doc has scrambled eggs on the soft foods week two. I had some and didn't have any trouble but I only ate literally like 4 small bites and chewed like crazy.

5 eggs? i think maybe you ate too much not that you ate semi mushie food. i don't say this to be disrespectful, but 5 eggs is way to much to put in your tiny pouch. you may want to cut back on the volume and try smaller portions when you add new foods.............you may have less discomfort. g2s

Angelface:

Took about a day and a half. I take full responsibility because I don't think I chew nearly enough, still 'wolf' everything down. I'll take it as a learning experience because now I'm very careful about how much and what I eat. Kinda gun-shy now. Thanks.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
