Donations to off set lap band surgery

Does anyone remember reading a posting from one of the members who included her website address as a part of the conversation, and on her website, she spoke about how she was accepting donations to off set the cost of the lap band surgery. And she also was selling items on ebay?

I'd like to visit her website again.

Thanks.

Well, I'm just interested if she received any results,

because most people tend to steer clear of people asking for money

and I remember at the end of her website, she was beginning to receive some money. She was selling personal items on ebay in order to raise extra cash.

i'm sure if I put in Lapband on ebay, i won't find what I'm looking for.

Thanks anyway.

Thanks, that worked this time, but that is not the site I was on before.

So it is definitely another person.

Thanks for your time!

Thanks for that link about ebay, but that still is not the one I remember seeing.

It was a post from a member who wrote about 2 paragraphs, and in the first couple of sentences, she said something about "come see my website" and it was about her story of weight loss. She listed the initial cost, and it showed each month what she paid and what the balance was down to... I remember she was paying like $50 a month and he had like $2,000 more dollars to go or something like that. I remember looking on the page with all that information and she had several categories of how she was paying for her surgery:

My payment: $50

Donations: $0

Ebay items: $20

etc...

that is how it was listed.

I'm not referring to someone actaully asking for money on ebay,

she mentioned in her story that she was making payments on her own, and she was also trying other avenues such as accepting donations from people who visited her personal web page, and also by selling her personal items on ebay.

All this information was within a post HERE in this website, where within her posting, she included a link to her personal website. It wasn't too long ago cause this is only day 3 for me here, and I didn't go back that far in the posting reading previous information.

Thanks anyway,

Carol

This has been the only forum that I have been to.

So it's here, it's just hard to find, I guess.

I know I did not dream it!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you!

Hi

I know who you mean. But of course I can't remember what her name is. I can see her picture in my mind. She has a small child and seems like her name might have had her childs name in it. Her web site said that if she raised the money to have the band she would in turn help others as she could. I believe I sent five dollars to her through pay pal. I think she took some heat for asking for donations. Not sure what ever happened to her. But I would love to know too.

I know this didn't help you at all.

wow pretty sad story, I cannot understand how the medicaid system cannot help her out. I wonder what kind iof insurance she has.

Thanks everyone. The site www.SaveRomeosMom.com

still is not the one I was on, but this one is interesting, too.

Sometimes people don't have insurance, or can't afford it.

Those people are entitled as well to medical care.

We should not judge people based on what they have and don't have.

Everyone should be treated fairly. Unfortunately, our government and our medical system does not always see it that way, and they definitely treat people different based on insurance, and then, based on which insurance carrier!

Anyway, it was a pleasure speaking to all of you.

I'm attending a seminar next Tuesday on LapBand and receiving my starter package that involves starting with, what else, the insurance carrier!

Have a Blessed Weekend!

Carol
