Surgery Date March 24th

Recommended Posts

Anyone else scheduled for March 24th? I am now on the pre-op diet. I have not cheated.:smile2: So far so good. But it is hard not to put something in your mouth. It is not that I am sooo humgry, it just that we are creatures of habit.

I have battled my weight almost all my life. I attribute most of my weight trouble to PCOD (Poly Cyctic Ovarian Disease) and of course, over eating. I am married (16 years) and have an 11 year old son. These guys are my life and I have always felt like I could not give back to them because of my weight. I could not take a hike at the park or ride a ride because my weight held me back. But no more:rolleyes2:

Hi Sugar!

I am to be banded on 3/25, so we are close. I am on a pre-op diet, but it is only to eat 1600 calories a day. Then 2 days prior to surgery I have Clear liquids only. So far, so good.

I am very excited. Time is going quickly for me. How about you? 30 pounds pre-op is awesome!

We are about the same age and weight. I also have an 11 year old son. (I am divorced though)

I also am scheduled for March 24th. Yesterday I went for my Pre-Op Visit and lab work. I lost 5 lbs from March 10th - March 17th. I was excited and motivated to get on going.

I am ready for the 24th and ready to get it over with you.

I am also scheduled for MARCH 24TH. I went to the doctor today, the final time before surgery. No pre op diet. He said to eat a light meal night before and of course nothing to eat or drink after midnight.

Lucky Duck not having to be on the liquid diet. It has been a long week and a half. But good news, my potassium levels are a little low. The nurse told me to eat a few bananas and drink some orange juice. My husband is on the way to the grocery store. YUM, YUM. :)

I am so ready to get this done and over with.

I won't know my surgery time until Sunday evening. Can't wait for this to happen!

I did really well with the pre-op diet for about 9 days and then I've done lots of little screw ups. Very annoyed with myself, but I can't be the only on ewho has had a hard time with this. I am on the straight and narrow now.

Good luck on Monday everyone!

Christine

Hi everyone!

My surgery time on 3/25 is tentative at 9:30. They will call me on Monday and tell me for sure. I have to say that I am fighting this last supper syndrome business. I don't really want to gain any weight that I've lost! (I mean really, my jeans are beginning to fit, not look like they are strained and ready to pop!)

Good luck everyone! I'll be thinking of you as I eat my Jello, Water and broth on Monday!

I won't know my surgery time until Friday afternoon. They did tell me that I had to be at the hospital 2 hours before surgery. But if my surgery is at 6am I just have to show up at 6 because thats when they all get there.

I'm hoping for 6am.

I'm ready for this.

I have to be there Monday at 5:15 am. I'm set for 9:30 surgery. I did pretty well on my full liquids but this clear crap is killing me. I am so looking forward to having my shakes again next Wednesday! I will be thinking of all of you tomorrow morning!

OMG Renee, I'm really glad you said that!!! It has only been since 9 pm last night, but it is so difficult to do this Clear Liquids thing. I mean I am on my second serving of Jello today and it tastes good! Oh well, I keep telling myself it is only 2 days!

Tomorrow I have to be at the hospital at 10:30. I was hoping to go in earlier, so I would not have to fast as long. Hey after 2 weeks of liquids and a day of clears, you would think I'd be fine with it.

Today was tough because there was so much yummy food at our family Easter celebration. SO glad I was surrounded by people that know about the surgery and I had great support from them.

Good luck tomorrow everyone!

Christine

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
