So I'm on my 3rd day of clear liquid pre-op diet and I couldn't sand it any more! I went to Burger King and had tender crisp sandwich and fries! I amlost feel giddy that I ate something but I am so p***d off that I have already screwed up my pre-op diet. This goes to show how addicted I am to food. I could just scream!

Has anyone esle done this? Am I the only one?

No you aren't the only one by a long shot and at least you did it before the band was on.

Oh  if only I could go back a couple days before my surgery............

Don't beat yourself up. Soon you're getting the band and you wont be able to do that (no matter how addicted you are to food, believe me I know) so just see it as getting BK out of your system. {{{HUGS}}} you'll be fine.

def don't feel bad! You are NOT alone. I cheated too... with a donut one day, and chocolate cake the next!!

You'll be fine. My doctor didn't even asked how well I followed the diet.

I haven't cheated, yet, but I am only on day 2 of pre-op diet. I think it is more of habit more than anything else that causes us to eat. I almost went through Burger King yesterday to grab lunch, then realized, crap I cant.

I did roll down my window and breathe in the odor for a couple of minutes. Is that cheating.

That is so funny! I don't think smelling is cheating. LOL! My office is right next to a BK, so I smell it all day. I fessed up and told my hubby. He was very understand, thank goodness. I'm sooo glad that I wont be at work again until next Tuesday. I wont have to smell it all day.

Good luck sticking to your diet!

I am so glad I found this thread. I am on day 5 of my pre-op liquid diet. I cheated yesterday with a small side salad from McDonald's and today with a bowl of Cereal. Considering what I usually eat, those things aren't that big of a deal, but I am still feeling really bummed out about it. And I still have 10 more days of this pre-op diet!!! I went to my PCP today though, and I have lost 5 pounds since Monday. That makes me happy, but I am still struggling with this! I would kill for a big bowl of macaroni and cheese!

It's aweful isn't it. I can't wait until I have my band to help keep this addiction at bay. For the most part I try to eat healthy. I have kids and I know I need to be an example for them. It's when I am by myself that I have the hardest time. My thought is, no one will know.......well after I cheated the first thing I did was hop on here and fess up. I am so glad there is this huge support group to help us all through each phase. What a belssing!

I cheated, too. I regretted it and I was afraid I'd have to have the surgery rescheduled if my liver was enlarged. It all worked out, though. I guess the days I did stick to it paid off. The good news is, for me the cravings for all that stuff are gone. I'm sticking to the post-op diet so far and it's really not bad. I am tired of Soup, but I get to eat mushies next week. Don't beat yourself up! Haven't we all done that long enough?

you are not alone. I was on prednisone prior to surgery. didn't lose any weight and couldn't help but eat. I took the bowel clense the day before surgery and everything went alright, with the surgery I was banded on 2/28/08.

I don't know what the ramifications are but I couldn't stand it either on the third day I ate two pieces of toast and today I am going to eat some scrammbled eggs. They told me the reason for this pre-op diet is something to do with your liver. I spoke to someone that had gastric bypass surgery several years ago and she said she ate right up until day of surgery and then I talked to someone else who bypass in november and she made it about three days on the liquid diet and then ate up till surgery.I know I lost 5lbs.

I was told that I had to go on Clear Liquids the day before my surgery at noon and let me tell you I was eating like there was no tomorrow up until 11:59 that day. I think 12:01 was when last bon bon hit my happy belly.

I struggle at night especially when my children are having spaghetti and I can smell it. So far I have resisted the urge to eat the lot but Im only day 4. One thing that has kept me going is that I am already seeing weight loss, so far 4kg. This has become my fun part of the day to weigh myself and see if I have lost anymore. Lets see if I feel the same in a week

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
