Calling all April Bandsters!!!!

Recommended Posts

Well I started Detox yesterday. I weighed when I got up and was at 229 (OMG!)...well this morning 223.5 - woohoo! Water weight - I lived in the restroom yesterday (I know TMI). So I'm hoping by Monday some more will have come off and my tummy will be back to it's post-band happy self.

How are all of you?

Congrats on the loss! That is awesome! WOOT__Emoticon_by_CaptianAwesome.gif

Sounds like everyone had some fun on New Year's! I didn't overeat, but did have a few drinks. A margarita, 2 appletinis and a vodka and cranberry juice. It was all over a period of about 4 hours. I was afraid to get on the scale this morning, but somehow I managed to lose 1 pound this week. Not sure how that happened, but I'll take it.

I have two funerals to attend this weekend and a trip to Houston for one of them so not much time to get any exercise in, but the good news is that I still don't get very hungry. Guess that band is good for something!

Yeah on the loss! Happy Dance!!Dance_revamp_by_Droneguard.gif

Sorry about the funerals. Sad_by_nulltarget.gif

Good Morning All!!!!!!!!!!

Well, here we are. It's a new day. I am sitting here sipping my Slimfast wondering how well I'm gonna do on liquids all day. Oh, and did I mention I have a lunch engagement? Dear Lord, give me strength. Not sure if I can pull this off, but I'm gonna try. After all...it's a new year! LOL

CC, Cheer, L2L- There will no more a$$ kicking. We all enjoyed the holidays and all that it entailed. That includes the Cookies, blossoms, cool refreshing beverages and the like. Y'all are gonna lose quick. I am confident about this! Look how far we've come! We are amazing and we can do anything! (except me, with the liquid diet thing) LOL

Alright...so come on everybody....let's do this!

~C

I am with you! Let's get this done in 2009!! Pull_Up_by_GibbyGibson.gifWeight_lifting___Gym_by_donkirk.gif

Happy New Year everyone! Good luck to everyone this year on their weight loss! Today starts the big day lol. I have had 2.5 cups of coffee. Time to go make a lovely Protein shake!

I am really going to work on drinking my Protein Shakes this year. I think I was so bored with the same ole stuff! I bought the Magic Bullet and some sugar free Jello and pudding mixes. I had a Peanut Butter banana one last night and a carmel white chocolate this morning. They were REALLY good - so good it felt like a cheat!! Glass_Drink_by_xitement.gif

Ok...I couldn't do it. No liquid diet for me. I am however, not indulging any more. I do need to step up my Water intake for sure. I'm gonna really focus on that.

Congrats to everyone that has already lost weight! Woo Hoo! We don't have much time left before our 1 year bandiversary. I really want to be at 100 lost, but I am feeling like that's not gonna happen. I'm just not losing enough (my averages are bad). I would have to lose no less than 11 pounds a month now until then. Hmmm. Maybe I will have to go a few liquid diets to do this! LOL

Hopefully they made a mistake in addition or in the last fill. My docs made a calculation error and ended up with the band amount and the charted amount not matching. When it mismatched, he sucked it dry and then blew it full and made sure that after about 15 mins fully full that he could withdraw the exact same amount. Since then all has been fine.

Well, apparently my doctor made a mistake also!!!! I am so happy, although I went through days and days of worry and stress. I apparently do not have a leak, it was miscalculation and him not adding all of the Fluid back in my band

Thank you all for your support

Happy New Years Ladies!!! I had a few weeks holiday time, so haven't been on in a while. It's so great to hear everyone's stories. Thanks for sharing both the ups and downs. Congrats to everyone for our weight loss since our surgeries.

I was successful with losing weight over the holidays, even though I indulged in unnecessary treats. But, I haven't been beating myself up because I planned for it. Like many of you, I had a few drinks, ate some Cookies and was suprised to see my weight didn't increase. Thank goodness for that. As much as we've tried to stick to our new lifestyle, it's good to see we can indulge now and then and still know we made the right decision with having our surgeries.

I just updated my weight ticker and had a revelation - regarding BMI, I'm 9 pounds from hitting the "normal" range. Being 5' 0", I never imagined I'd make it! Now I see it on the horizon. I haven't paid too much attention to BMI since I came out of the obese range. Does anybody track this closely?

I made a Valentine's goal to lose 10 pounds, perhaps overzealous but within reason. By my bandiversary, I'd like to be 130 - 135. Has anybody else come up with new goals? I like to read through your posts to get new ideas and be encouraged.

Sorry for the long post - I guess I had a lot to say after nearly 2 weeks! Have a great weekend.

Cindy

Glad you don't have a leak Amy. That's good news!

Seems like everyong had a great New Year! I certainly did; however, I must admit that I did not stick to my promise to stay away from the margaritas, but I didn't have too many. Oh well!

New year's eve night was great. Went to our friend's house. They hauled out a few pics from last year and wow, what a difference one year can make:

Last Year - Wearing a size 22/24

This Year - Size 14 jeans!!

Last Year - Hid in the corner hoping no one would notice me

This Year - Took a ride on a Harley!!

Last Year - Ate my weight in appetizers and felt bad after

This Year - Nibbled here and there and didn't sweat it!!!

Last Year - Surprise, no one did notice me

This Year - Got hit on and flirted with!! (Eye opener for Hubby, I think!!)

Lovin' the band and my new life! Can't wait to see what the new year holds!

Hey Carol! I don't think, actually I know I won't hit 100 pounds gone by my bandiversary either. It's just coming off too slow now. I'm okay with that though. In my opinion, I'm in such a better place now than last year any additional weight that comes off is just gravy, so to speak!! LOL! Of course I want to loose more, but I'm not going to stress. Don't worry, you will loose yours too!!

I can't do the liquid diet either. Just can't seem to make myself do it. I am however back on healthy foods and more Water. I'm trying to eat more broth based Soups and that's almost like liquids only. Besides my blender cratered after making two big batches of margaritas the other night, so I can't make the Protein Drinks right now. LOL! That's a good excuse, right?!?

Hope you all have a great weekend!!!

Hey Cindy! Congrats on your weight loss and BMI. I too did well even though I indulged quite a bit. I haven't checked my BMI in a while, but I'm so short I'm sure I'm still in the bad range. It's getting better though. Of course according to my BMI I should weigh around 116. LOL!! Too funny. I don't think I've ever weighed 116. Well, maybe in Junior High! I'd like to get down to 145, that would be 100 lost, but not sure if that's even realistic. That's the very high end of "healthy" weight range for me. We'll see. Nice to hear from you! Keep up the great work!

Thats wonderful that you don't have a leak. Now you can breathe easier :tongue2:

I haven't thought about new goals yet. As you can see I still have alot to lose before my initial goal. I think I will re evaluate my goals once I am within probably 10 pounds of my initial goal. I think I have to lose another 20 pounds and I will be in Normal BMI range.

Update though! Happy New Years to everyone.

I lost 1 pound this week. I failed miserably at the pouch test.. Unless of course the test was too see how many alcoholic beverages, chips, and crap that I could shove it in lol.

I am good though so I cannot complain. I am back on track now. First time I only have to make a new years resolution to back off a little from the chips instead of losing a million pounds. I am so happy with my band. I know how to use it right and that it's all in my control.

I have a trip in 1 month so I am hoping to lose about 7 pounds before I go so I can be 189 when I go.

I forgot to add this to my last post.

The other night I was at the casino.. I was feeling so freaking good about myself. I was wearing a new shirt I got size XL and my new size 14's with heels..

Sitting at the bar drinking an ALCOHOLIC beverage right.. that's the key word. Some WITCH sits down next to me and looks over at me. I ignore her and order another drink.... She even hears me order.

Out of the blue she said when is your baby due?? WTF

Hell now I feel like crap about myself (well atm I did) I try not to flip out on the witch. I look over and politely say. Oh I am sorry but I am not pregant.

WTF would first I am not sure whether im more offended that she thinks I look fat enough to be pregant or that I am supposeably pregnant and drinking alcohol?

Uggh some people are morons. I weigh 197 and have 2 well defined fat rolls haha... I could see if i had one big beer belly but I didn't.

I am over her.. I think. If DH wasn't with me I probably would of said alot more to her than just I am not pregnant......

God people shouldnt open their mouths cause stupid seems to fall out.

So to make myself feel better I posted in strut your stuff haha

Hello Everyone!

Haven't posted in a while as I went on vacation to Costa Rica for 10 days and Walt Disney World or 6 days. We walked EVERYWHERE!!! You should have seen the amount of heavy people that were riding those go-go scooter machines around Disney World- man I thought they were going to run us over some times!! I felt so sorry for them and couldn't help but think how that choice has probably contributing to the incredible amount of obesity in our country............fat everywhere....... anyway, it was the first time I came back from vacation and weighed 3 lbs less than when I left. I have to give a huge majority of the credit to the lapband. I did indulge and have fun but the restriction and walking really made the difference.

Today I finished my exercise session - 3 miles in 36:30 - I am feeling good about that accomplishment. Each time I get on that treadmill and crank up the rate to run I want to beat the last time but so far this is as good as it gets and it feels so good when I am finally done!! I have found the right combination of songs on the IPOD to keep me going.

My goal this year is to continue to increase the exercise and try to hit 5 days a week. I have been going between 3 and 5 but my schedule seems to get in the way....with tax season on the horizon I think I will have to roll out of bed much earlier in order to accomplish this.

For the first time in a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGG time I am under 100 lbs overweight and I think that at my current rate, I will make my 100lb loss mark by my one year anniversary on 4/30.

I have to say thanks to all of you. Whenever I pop in you have all been an encouragement and inspiration. Thanks for letting me share the board with all of YOU. Happy New Year to YOU and YOUR!!!!

PS - As far as the Protein Shakes - MUSCLE MILK still rules!!

IAMWORTHIT, NUMBRGRL, BRANDY, DSK, BEA, CUBS GIRL, MARRISA'S MOM-------

It's so good to see everyone popping in! I am just tickled PINK over it!! You are all doing so well. I am so proud to be a part of such a great group of people.

I wish I could report that I am doing well on my resolution, but I'm not. My mom is still visiting and we've continued to be on the run. I told her we will need to settle into a routine if she's gonna hang around! I DID drink a ton of Water today though. She must think something's wrong with me cuz I've been in the bathroom all day! LOL

So, tomorrow is another day. I am doing fine. Haven't gained, still at my posted weight. I really want to see the scale move again, and I've got an appointment with a new surgeon at the end of the month.

Cheers

~C

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
