What time of day does your band loosen up?

Recommended Posts

I know many people have experience a "tight" band in the AM, and cannot eat much Breakfast, other than liquids. Since my first fill, my band doesn't loosen up until about 3pm.

I wake up, and can drink about half a cup of a cold beverage (water or OJ) and/or a few sips of coffee. Sometimes I can get half of a cup of yogurt down. I can't eat eggs anymore, or fruit, but I am not really hungry anyway. By lunchtime, I am pretty hungry, but cannot get much down without food getting stuck (I get that tight, pressure in the band area). I can eat a small amount of liquids, but that's all. I can barely eat a few bites of salad. Needless to say by 2-3pm I am very hungry. At that time I have a piece of string cheese, which goes down fine. Then an hour later, I will have some hummus, or my leftover salad from lunch. A few hours later, I can eat a normal dinner (small fillet of fish and a small salad), and then a pudding cup before bed.

Does anyone else have a similar schedule, where you are super tight in the AM and through lunch, then loosen up for dinner?

you may want to start your day with something warm. sometimes that helps loosening up the band.

when i am filled properly, i cant eat in the morning either. no way would eggs work. i guess i start loosening up about 1030 - 1100. then by dinner im barely restricted.

good luck.

Yeah....I guess I don't mind. I was just wondering if it was normal. I am very elated with my weight loss...3.5 pounds in the first week after my fill! It is so strange to not be hungry all the time, and then to get full on an ounce or so of cheese. I miss eating my big Breakfast, but not as much as I miss the extra weight!

Mine always loosened up between 12 and 1. Even though I have less fill because I'm pregnant, I still am very careful what I eat before noon. I stick to scrambled eggs or Malt-O-Meal or yogurt with granola.

My band hasn't made up its mind yet as to when it's going to be tight at a consistent time . Some days I can eat reasonably; other days, I am so tight, hardly anything goes down. I just go with the mood that it's in.... Can't complain, though. I love the way I am looking and feeling!:blushing:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
