Which office do you see him in? I am from the Beaumont area but went for my follow-up on 3-13 to his Houston office. My first fill is 3-31! How are you feeling? I ate a taco today. I know, so not on my plan but it went down easy and hey, it's Easter and I didn't eat a single piece of Easter candy!

Hey all! Just wanted to say hi & see how everyone was doing! Anyone resist dipping in their kids Easter candy? ?? LOL I'm happy to say I didn't...yes that's right! I don't regret it! I contributed to celebrating! Back to the grand master!!! Hope everyone had a great weekend!!! OMG! Just read some of you were able to resist! Go ahead!!! That's great!!!

Hey there texgirl! Sorry we didn't see each other or talk if we did....there were so many short highlighted-haired women & w/glasses! Go figure! I've been to his office with a co-worker when she got her 1st fill & EVERYONE was talking about their experiences (pre-op for me---almost made me change my mind!!! So glad I didn't!). When I went for post-op it was sooooo quiet! Am scheduled for my 1st fill 4/8. Not sure if I even want one. Perhaps by then I'll have a bigger appetite & will actually need it. For now am not able to eat much comfortably. Have had 2 meals so far that were completely comfortable. Chewing sux...& is surprisingly almost a turn-off completely! Any who...hope all is well w/everyone!

Doc was very happy w/ my healing and gave me the go ahead to begin incorporating solid foods to my diet.

I will go for my fist fill the week of April 14th (that's week 5).

How are you doing 19 days post-op?

Hey there Nikki! Congrats! 16 lbs is wonderful!!! I went to my post op appt on 3/13. Dr. Spiegel told me I was healing wonderfully. Told me I could adjust my intake as I was comfortable. If I was able to tolerate solids, to advance my diet. I had already been eating some solids even before my post op...very small portions! As of now, I've been on solids for 3 wks. It's been going good. Last week I vomitted a couple of times and experienced some pressure w/my food going down. Getting up any air that might have gone down w/swallowing is still a challenge. I've slowed down a lot! Sunday night was my 1st meal that was problem free! I was on my cycle last week & from what I understand bloating can cause tightness of your band. Perhaps that's why I was a little uncomfortable last week? In either case, am doing good! Walking at least 30 minutes a day & am looking forward to working out in June!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
