Sorry to hijack your thread but I was happy to see another Texan in the March forum. My surgery is on Monday with Dr. Cribbins' partner, Dr. Hamn. I'm not sure if you and your husband are local but I think it would be cool to have other DFW Texans in the March forum.

Unfortunately, not local. We live about 4 hours away in Northern Louisiana. We are working through a local office here that Cribbins does the surgeries for and has trained the physician for aftercare. I have heard wonderful things about Cribbins and Hamn and don't mind the travel vs. the one suegeon here locally (no offense to anyone that uses my local surgeon).

My procedure is the 7th as well. Dr. Aceves is my doctor. I'm so excited! Even my daughter is counting down with me, she's happy for me.

Best wishes to you and your DH, hope to see you on here with a great success story!

HI!

I'm being banded on 3/7/2008 too! It has taken 9 months to get this far! I am really excited. I would have been banded on 2/15 except I fell down the stairs and broke my leg in two places! I am sooo ready. Congratulations on your banding! KW

I had all my day before stuff done and now im so excited! didn't think i would need that sleeping pill the doc gave me, but now i'm starting to think i will be too excited to sleep.

funny thing happened while getting tests done at the hospital though. the nurse (male) first had me put the gown on w/ the opening in the front, i got to leave my pants on, then for the next test he said to put the gown on w/ the opening in the back. so i started to, and he was like, "no, wait til i leave the room" it was hilarious.

well i'm going to go have my "last supper" lol then sushi of course before going to bed!

HI,

How lucky are you? I didn't get anything to help me sleep! I have been busy getting ready for the big day too. I guess I'll depend on some tea before bed. I wish you and everyone getting banded the best of luck and speedy recovery. Here's to us!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
