Ok, I hope this doesn't sound stupid but here goes....

My stomach seems to 'gurgle' a lot... yesterday I mistook this for growling and had some broth, but this didn't stop the gurgling. Does anyone know if there's anything to quiet it down? It doesn't hurt in any way, it's just kind of loud and embarassing and I'm going back to work today so I was hoping for advice...

The 2nd thing I have is I can't tell when I'm hungry, full, or just having a few pains (I just was banded 3 days ago). When I think I'm hungry and have even a sip of Water my stomach cramps... I don't have a problem keeping anything down, but what I'm associating with feeling full happens immediately after the first sip of Water. If I continue to drink the feeling doesn't get any worse no matter how much I have and the feelings of hunger return within an hour or so. Any ideas???

Thanks!!

im assuming you are on liquids only, so just sip throughout the day. make sure you get plenty of Protein in.

i remember when i was banded (back in the day - LOL) i didnt feel hungry at all at first. it took a couple of weeks until i truly was hungry, but everyone is different. pains can be from sutures, hunger, gas, you name it.

You will have all kinds of fears for a while until your body and stomach adjust to the trama of the surgery.

The growling and gurgling is just your stomach saying hey put food here but the nice band makes it not feel hungry. Isn't that great!!!!

I am 6 months into the band surgery and starting to be normal.

It takes a long time for some people and some have no problems and some have awful problems.

This is a great site to get help but you are sooooo new that you need to give yourself time to get used to and heal from the surgery.

Do not eat anything and follow Dr. directions and keep yourself hydrated.

Maybe your Water is too cold. Try some nice warm, not too hot green tea.

I found that very comforting for me after my surgery.

I could not stand any of the sugarfree popsciles, ugh they made me nauseated.

Feel free to email me anytime.

Call your Dr. anytime you need any questions answered, that is what they are there for!

Good luck!

yaya

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
