Have you had your second fill?

Recommended Posts

I currently have 2 cc's in a 10 cc band and go for my second fill on Tuesday. I'm 2 mo and 1 wk post surgery and I've lost 30 lbs. I'm thrilled about that, but right now I'm hungry and wanting to snack all. the. time. I'm losing 1-2 lbs per week, which really surprises me, because I know I'm eating more than I should. I've noticed myself not chewing properly a few times (you know that feeling, when the food is halfway down your throat and you realize that you didn't hardly chew it at all?) and it's all gone right down, no problems.

I suspect that I really NEED this second fill. If I'm getting down big bites of barely chewed food (not ALL the time, but it's happened more than once) then I likely don't have much restriction at all, right?

For those of you who have had your second fill, did it make a huge difference? I really feel like there's nothing in there at this point.

I've had my second fill. I guess it was on the 10th. So two weeks ago. I have noticed a huge difference in what I can and can't eat. I get that golf ball feeling way more often. I would say at least once a day if not more often. I'm still hungry quite often. But I guess that's normal. At some point you are supposed to be, right?

I eat a good dinner and occasionally have a yogurt or something like that as an evening snack. When I wake up I have some v8 fusion and some Protein stuff and a cup of coffee. I am NOT a Breakfast person. Never have been. So it shouldn't surprise me that by 10:30-11:00 I'm hungry. I think that really is the only time I'm "starving." The rest is head saying I should eat.

I don't know. I sometimes think that I shouldn't have gotten this fill. I should have waited a bit longer. I have more head issues at this point than hunger ones.

That's my experience.

Wow only 2cc in a 10cc band...wow I am so glad my dr is agressive with fills. My first fill I got 5cc and I really didnt have any restriction. My 2nd fill was last week. I can tell more of a difference. but I am not fully restricted yet. My 2nd fill he put in 3.5cc so I now have 8.5cc in a 10cc band and I am not fully restricted yet. I can still eat quite normaly. Just less. But I am trying to eat healthy stuff. It is really difficult for me to eat healthy but I am trying to stay focused on the good food.< /p>

I had my first fill over a month ago (4.5cc into a 14cc band) and felt no restriction at all. As I told my doctor, one day I went to Golden Corral and had a large salad with lots of chicken and shrimp followed by a plate full of veggies and some pork chops, followed by a dessert. This isn't how I imagined being banded was going to be.

Last Tuesday I had fill #2 which added 2 more cc's, bringing me to 6.5cc's. I am now feeling some restriction. This morning for Breakfast I had a couple of scrambled eggs with cheese and salsa about four hours ago and I still feel "full."

The weirdest thing is, feeling "full" doesn't feel like it used to. As I mentioned in my latest blog entry, "full" used to mean a full belly; now it means "tightness in my chest." I used to quit eating when I felt "stuffed." These days, I stop when I feel uncomfortable tightness, bordering on pain.

I had my 2nd fill about 2.5 weeks ago bringing me to 6 cc in a 10 cc band. I do feel more restriction and less hunger. I've since had my first episodes of something getting stuck and PBing and frothing (joy). I had 2 episodes in the week after and could relate them to eating too quickly, too big of a bite, or not chewing enough. So I started being much more careful since that was no fun at all!

Now I've had 2 more episodes one last night and one right now and I was pretty careful (especially today) to take small bites and chew thoroughly. I don't think I'm overfilled because I wouldn't have gone for the last week and a half without any trouble, but it does seem odd that twice in a row now I've had this problem.

I will say that after my 2nd fill I've had less hunger (I had been VERY HUNGRY prior to the 2nd fill). I have not faltered from the diet the Dr. office has me on though, and my weight is dropping like a stone right now:thumbup:. It'll drop even further if I can't seem to get anything down without it getting stuck! I think I may have to try liquids for a day or so.

They say that if you PB you should go on liquids for a little while because of the swelling that may occure.

I would try liquids to seel if that is why your getting stuck

I'm scheduled for my 2nd fill on March 20. On that day I will have my lapband for 3 months. I got my first fill Feb. 21 and I have 4 ccs in a 10cc band. Right now I feel a little more restricted than before, but I still think I might need just a little bit more. So far I have lost 22 lbs and my goal is to lose a total of 35 by my next appointment. Can someone tell me what PBing is?

starting weight- 193

current weight- 171

goal weight-120

PBing is when your eating and something gets stuck in your chest, it hurts a whole lot and you start to spit up slimy saliva and if you drink you just spit up more saliva, you usually have to wait for it to go down. I myself am hardly ever able to throw it up. It's gross, but happens when you don't chew well and or eat to fast

I just had my second fill yesterday, I now have 7.5 cc's in a 9 cc band. I have already noticed that it has made a big difference. I felt almost no restriction at 6 cc's and was able to eat one - two cups of food at a sitting.

Ok... Today I had my second fill and im kinda restricted

My question is... When my doctor put the niddle in he withdrawn some liquid so im wondering when he put 5cc in is that ontop of the 3cc already in or he just removed the 3cc and placed 5cc?

To me it seems 5cc cause i dont think he would jump from 3cc to total 8cc in 10cc band...

My first fill was 5cc the second fill was 3.5cc total of 8.5cc I think they only total what they add not what they take out.

I got stuck today on chicken! Man I am so happy! I know it seems crazy to be happy over that but I was afraid I would never feel restricted. I can eat a bunch and the chicken did go down fairly quick but I was stuck for a few minutes. can we say ouch.

I need to chew better.

OH PB is Productive burp. It is when you eat a lot and you BURP up food. Sometimes it results in puking if you burp a lot of food up but usualy it just resettles the food.

This is stuck and slime

I was just talking about maybe going in earlier for my 2nd fill. I have 3.4 in a 10cc band. When I went she tried 4cc but it seemed too much so she went to 3.4 but I feel like that might have been just not enough.

I am also "sliming" about once a day. Just not chewing right... I catch myself eating like before LB and I slow down... but sometimes it is too late and I "slime"

I can eat more sometimes then other times. The lady at the Fill Center said that is because where the Fluid is in my band. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
