March 31st!

Recommended Posts

OMG a week you guys! Does anyone else think that this will be the longest week of your life????

I am surprised, but I not not afraid, not even a lil bit. I think that I have been on this path for so long, nothing is left but sheer excitement and anticipation.

I think the only thing I actually fear is not having this done. I have thie reoccuring thought that they put me under, and I wake up, and the doc is telling me that once they got inside, they discovered something random wrong with me that means that I am no longer a candidate for the band.

Well, I guess maybe I am a LITTLE afraid, lol. It is okay, we are soooo close you guys, can't you feel it?????!!!!!:)

hi all! I am getting banded on the 31st, too. It's amazing that it is almost here! I only got approved for surgery last monday, and i'm getting banded next monday. In a way, it's almost anti-climatic. Well, good luck everyone!

Well here we are bringing up the rear in March and I couldn't be more excited. I have been lurking here for several weeks now and just reading all the posts has been so encouraging and really helps keep everything in perspective.

Whoo Hoo...less than a week!

Hey everyone-

I think "our day" is going to be here before we know it. I feel like I still have so much to do to prepare for the surgery, I still need to stock up on my Protein shakes & make my house "post-surgery" friendly.

Are any of you doing anything special prior to your surgery, as say, a final "send off" ?

I can only have Clear Liquids all day on Sunday, so I am going to go out for dinner with my friends on Saturday night & have my favorite food, pizza (within reason of course! don't want to start off on the wrong foot )

To Newbeginnings: my surgery is first thing Monday morning, scheduled for 7:30 a.m., fortunately I won't have to wait in suspense all day that day! Then I have a one-night overnight stay in the hospital & will be discharged on Tuesday- yay!

Good luck eveyone!

Healthier days are ahead!

I have to do the sendoff, within reason of course. My friends are all super supportive, and since my favorite food is bbq, they are throwing me a cookout on Saturday. Just the girls, and we are going to Celebrate the future, for me, and for all of us. They have promised to make my plate for me, since I would rather just sit at the grill and eat everything as it comes off, lol. I am promising myself a healthy serving of my total fav, bbq ribs, but I am going to be super careful with everything else. I have been a super good girl tho, doing a self imposed liquid diet for the last two weeks. I know, I am a nutcase. But I am just trying to make sure that everything is perfect. The liquid diet is meant to get the organs ready for surgery, especially for people with a higher BMI. My doc doesn't require it, but I am so ready for this, that I am willing to do anything. But Saturday is going to be phenomenal, my mouth is watering just thinking about it!!!!!

Luckily I am the first surgery of the day on Monday, I have to be there at 6am for an 8am surgery. That is cool, because getting there is going to be hard enough, I would hate to have to wait all day on Monday.

Hi everyone--I too am getting the band on March 31st in Seattle, WA. I have to be there at the early hour of 7:15am. I have been on a modified liquid diet for 2 weeks and just raided Whole Foods tonight for Protein powders and box Soups. I have been researching, saving, and planning for this for almost two years so I could not be more excited. I am also a little apprehensive, but I know it will be worth it. Good luck to all of you March 31st bandsters!

Hi ladies! I havent been on here in awhile. Now that the surgery is tomorrow, I figured Id pop in and say hello. My surgery is at 10:30 am tomorrow in Boston. I am excited, but nervous! I just had my last "food" at 7pm, which was a Meal Replacement bar. I can drink liquids until midnight, then, THATS IT!

Best of Wishes to everyone! :scared2:

Hi all March 31 new lapbandsters, I had my surgery at 1:30 pm on the 31, stayed one night and got home tues at 7 pm. I am doing great. How are you all doing? Does anyone think this is easier than they thought it would be? the hardest part for me is cooking supper and watching my family eat it when I am sipping on a s.f carnation Breakfast shake. I know this too will pass. I have lost 3 lbs so far. How about you guys? I was up 2 when I came home, probably because of the iv fluids so if i count that its actually 5. I had wicked right shoulder pain when I first woke up. did any of you get that? I am so glad to have it over and ready for this new life. things are looking up. I am eating about 800-1100 calories a day. How much are you guys eating? I did do 1 mile on my treadmill this am and felt alot better after. My tummy feels like i did 1,000 situps. How would you describe it? Hope you all are doing great. You can send me a private message if you want.

hey, thanks for responding. I've had an ok week. Mostly cream Soups, pudding and carnation instant Breakfast .....I was adding 1 -2 scoops of Protein (5-10gr) to the CIB - but today I didn't. I have this awful bad breath and taste in my mouth. I am trying todrink plenty of Water and I have a cup of Decaf tea when I get up. So far being hungry and the halitotsis is the worst. I'm going back to workk on Monday. - we'll see then!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
