Hi I am not local to you but wanted to welcome you. I live in Western MA now but grew up near you in Fall River. I have been banded for about 7 months. I have lost about 70 pounds since my surgery and another 55 preparing myself for surgery. I am happy to answer questions or address concerns you might have!

Welcome Kim,

I'm in Milford. Where are you having your surgery?

I don't have a surgery date yet, and am chomping at the bit to get one.

Trystelle,

Fantastic progress!!!! Where did you go?

A size 16 :) real clothes in a real dept, in a normal store.

OMG, I can't even imagine that yet!

I start a new job on Monday, with regular hours. It may delay my surgery which isn't even scheduled yet, but I gotta do what I gotta do!

At least I won't be home struggling with the fridge anymore.

Hi Kimberly:

I think we met at the last support group meeting. I hope all went well with your surgery. It's been a couple of weeks. How are you feeling?

Hey guys! What are the support meetings like at Glasgow and Glawgow? How often are they/what time do they meet?? I really want to try to go to the next one! I live in Attleboro but I go to school in Bridgewater until pretty late everyday so I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it or not.

Hey Allison:

I couldn't find the right thread to send this on, but I remember that you're going for your sleep apnea test this week. I just wanted to mention that you might want to line up a friend to help you out with getting the glue off of your head the morning after the test. They put things on your body to read what's going on and they have to glue them to your head. I have a Daughter that's 20 and I know how important hair is to young women so you'll want to have someone help you out with this.

Good luck.

Sue

Thanks Sue!! I appreciate any advice you have!!! After my sleep lab I have class at 11:00 in Bridgewater so I hope I don't have much trouble getting cleaned up. I'm hoping I have someone around to help me, is it really that bad? I have very long, thick hair that is my "crowning glory" hahhaha, how do you get it out?? Does it come out with shampoo/brushing? Its funny that your daughter is 20 because my mom is also 48 lol. Thanks so much for all the help! No more questions right now but I'm sure I'll have some in the near future :huh2:

Allison:

We have even more in common. My Daughter goes to Bridgewater too. She's in her junior year majoring in elementary education and second major is English. If you come to support group sometime I'll show you her picture.

Good luck with the sleep apnea, etc.

Sue

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
