I'm another May 12th bander. 5:30 a.m. I am getting so so so nervous. My doctor required a two week liquid diet and said that I should be able to lose 15-20 lbs during that time, and here we are, two days before surgery, and I'm only down 8. I am soooooooo ticked! My husband, who has just been eating one meal, and drinking Protein drinks the rest of the day has lost 8. I haven't cheated once!!! I've really had to fight myself from getting in the negative mind-set because of it too. I guess I should be happy with the 8 gone. After all, it's better than none.

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you and sharing in our adventure into lap-band living.

till next time,

kathy

Hey, guys - congrats on all your upcoming bandings!

Over in the Master Thread, a bunch of us have been talking about our experiences on the run-up to the procedure, what the surgery is like and how we're doing afterwards. You might want to check it out for an idea of what to expect, and to shout out any particular questions you might have to people who did it just last week!

Yay us!

well had the lapband on the 12th but ended up with pneumonia and c-diff after antbiotics. what supposed to be the next day return to home ended up a 5 day stay. I'm feeling better and am eating cottage cheese, Protein Drinks and scxrambled eggs. I do feel full easily and so afraid of being dehydrating am drinking throughout the day. its hard not to graze at this stage because there isn't much we can eat to begin with so I do find I am eating about 2-3 tablespoons at a time but 4-5 times per day. I've lost a total of 15 lbs which included my preop diet so I'm not really excited about the weight loss as I felt it would be more. But I do think how excited I would have been with this weight loss prior to the surgery so I should be happy. I'm a little sore and have a hard time wearing a bra because of it. I have my first appt on Friday the 29th and am looking forward to it. I'm still struggling with loose stool so I don't know if this is normal or not. So how is everyone else doing?

sharon;)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
