Weightloss Change To Clothing Size

Recommended Posts

I Have My Band Surgery Tomorrow. The Question That I Have Is How Much Weight Did You Have To Lose Before You Saw A Change In Clothes Size. My Best Friend Has Just Given Me A Lot Of Clothes That Are Size 18. I Am In A 24 Now, As Long As It's Stretch. My Goal Is To Be Wearing All Those Capris, And Skirts This Summer. Is This A Realistic Goal, Or What.

Tia For Any Advice

I started out at 5'0" weighing 263 and wearing a 26/28. I am now 75 pounds lighter and wear a 16. The 18's will probably be too big for you by the summer.

Carmel,

I know I'm a male..but I also know that women are better at converting mens size to comparable womens sizes.

I have lost 78 punds in just over 6 months. Went from a 54 waist to a 44..Can get into some of my old 40's.

I noticed a size change very soon but I refused to buy new clothes till I lost enough to warrant it. I wear a uniform at work and they pay for it. They made me go get new pants... I told them I'm only allowed two new pair a year and I wanted to wait... They asked the union if they could wave the two pair a year rule without having to go and buy everyone a more pants.

The union got them to add that if the pants are needed due to "WEIGHT LOSS" then it can be waived. SO not all employers are bad lol

Anyway you will also find others will see your changes before you do. WWe're to cridical of ourselves...but keep a close eye out your going to be surprised.

Good luck

Everyone loses weight differently, some slower and some faster. I lost 54 pounds the first 4 months. You might be out of those by summer, so wear them while you can. I have went through so many different sizes in 4 months, all I do is dig though my closets looking for stuff to wear. Make sure you try them on often.

Good Luck with your surgery, and post and let us know how you are doing when you can.

I've only lost 18 lbs since 1/13 (first fill coming up! YEAH). I started out at a size 20/22 that was uncomfortable at the end of the day, and I bought sz. 18/20 tops. Now I am into Lane Bryants 18 talls and can even pour into a sz. 16 (too tight in the waist to be comfortable). I'm 5'8 and currently 222lbs. My shirts are baggy and my scrubs are becoming very loose. I absolutely love having loose clothes!!

What's even more amazing is how many inches I've lost! 5 inches in my hips alone!!

I have lost about 26 lbs total before and after surgery. I am onlt lik 3 weeks out now I wear a uniform to work and the backs have ties .I never tied them before now I have to. Also I had several scrub tops that were tight and not they fit. the pants are baggy and I found that I am currently between sizes. People at work noticed a diference the day I came back. Enjoy the ohh and ahh's that will be coming to you soon.

The clothing size thing is very individual and has been a source of mystery and frustration to me. Michelle and I are the same height and almost exactly the same weight (I weigh 187 today). Yet she is wearing a size 12 and I am in a size 18 and they are kind of tight. It's not just your weight and height, I don't think. A lot depends on your age, shape, muscle mass, etc. I am big around the middle, so while my legs could fit into a much smaller size, my waist won't. But no matter what size you end up wearing, it will be smaller than the size you're in now, that's for sure!

First of all LOVE the name. Carameldiva I mean come on what isn't to love.

I started out 296 in a very very tight 22/24. I simply refused to go up to a size 26. I am 5'7" and down 56 lbs and 31.5 inches. I am now in a loose size 18. I would bet you would be several sizes smaller but in the 18's that might be pushing it. But who cares, YOU WILL BE IN THEM SOON ENOUGH. You could get in them if you work really really hard and follow the band rules.

I noticed a difference in the way my clothes fit when I lost 30 lbs. SO who knows? Might be in them 18's.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
