  1. Jean, you posted somewhere else that your band slipped. I am confused Totally different reasonings from the blog you posted. Also this on OH: "My situation reminds me of the speech that Dr. Mitchell Roslin gave at last year's ASMBS conference, in which he pointed out that the band creates a high-pressure system that can eventually lead to motility problems. It baffles me that this could happen to someone like me - a very careful eater who wasn't overeating. I suppose it's possible that it was developing very slowly and didn't start causing symptoms until it reached a critical point." Sounds to me these are general band problems, not a case of 20+ years of hidden issues. or, did your band slip? or, 20+years of silent reflux?
  2. Why did you revise to VSG?
  3. I was banded in 2003, in Texas. I have the 4cc band. I have had no problems what so ever with the older band. Just went in for my NINE year followup. Everything was perfect. No slippage, no pouch dialation, no erosion, everything was great. I have met my goal, then recently gained about 15 pounds back, so she added .7cc to the 2.5cc I already had. So, now I am at a total of 3.2cc. Hopefully this is what I need!
  4. I am glad you had suck great care with Dr. Benavides. I was banded by him in 2003, when he was in College Station. Pre op was GREAT. But he had no care whatsoever about what happened to me post op. I have also heard that from several of his College Station patients. I had NO IDEA he moved until I called for my 2nd year follow up, and the # was disconnected. Have not heard a word from his office. I followed up with his partner (Dr Garwood) for a while. I called this week to make my SIX year follow up with Dr Garwood... And he is GONE now as well. Again, no contact from the office to let me know or anything.
  5. WOW Jacqui, you look GREAT! I can't believe you have not had a tummy tuck... Looks pretty good to me! My belly button looks like it is frowning!
  6. I live in Texas, work as an Accounting Assistant. I was banded in 2003. I have lost about 120 pounds. Lots of struggles with the band. I have gained 20 pounds this past year, but I am getting back on the wagon! The and works, I was not working!
  7. From my experience, cough always causes swelling. I would go on liquids for a couple of days, and see if that helps! That is what has worked for me anyway.
  8. HI!!! Thanks for the reply! I have not been to the doctor in about 3 years, called to make an appointment and found out he MOVED. Great. But I don't think I need a fill. I am still pretty restricted.... It's that eating around the band! I know it works.... Just gotta make myself work! Sounds like we have the same problems! Keep in touch! I need someone to hold me accountable!:blushing:
  9. I was banded in 2003. I am looking for others that were banded around that time! It has been 6+ years for me. I lost a total of 120, but over the past 6, yes 6 months, 20 pounds have crept back on!! HELP!!!
  10. I see Dr Garwood as well. Love him. I had my surgery in 2003. SO it has been a while. However Dr Garwood is NOT a surgeon. He does not do the lapband surgery. He only does follow up care.
  11. I have been banded for 6 YEARS, and still have to make those conscious efforts. The old habits are not gone, just supressed.
  12. I have not potsted on here in a LONG time, but I have had my band since Oct 2003, and have had No problems at all. I have lost 120 pounds and am keeping it off.
  13. I have 5 punds to go until goal weight and I constantly look in the mirror and think what a fat a@@ then, I remember...I'm not fat anymore!!! I was doing that just this morning and my boyfriend said baby you are not big....just look at yourself! I think I must have some type of - what's it called - body dismorphic disorder, anyway, my point here being - he told me i was "AVERAGE" size. That was the best feeling ever!!! lol.
  14. I had my surgery on a Thursday, he told me that I could go back to work the following Monday, i tried, but could not sit up for that long, so I went home and returned Wednesday, just a little sore, but could work.
  15. Paula, no Dr. Benavides. I have not had an adjustment in over a year now. I THINK I have 2 cc's. May be going in for one soon though.
