Hungry! Hungry! Hungry! Help me please!

I forgot to warn you about something with the Isopure. The taste is just slightly different from what you expect it to be. It's not bad.. it just takes some getting used to. For instance, the Grape Frost smells like grape... but the taste when you first are adjusting to it doesn't taste as grapey as it smells. The good news... after your first couple of bottles, your taste adjusts and it actually tastes pretty good. I must warn you, though, that the apple-melon is really really melony in a weird way. I still have 5 more bottles of that to cough down. Surprisingly, my favorite is the pineapple-orange. Oh, another tip.. drink it very very cold. It tastes best that way... and don't nurse it too long to let it warm up. There. I've made it sound probably far worse than it is. You'll probably open your first one and wonder what the heck is wrong with me.

It really is a great way to get 40g of Protein in one shot. Although, I wish for the money that I could get the same amount of Protein in a martini! :wink2:

Dear WCFG: Thank you so much for the Isopure tip. I tried the Orange flavor today at work, very chilled and over ice as you recommended. Odd aftertaste, but not bad. Not bad at all! And it did seem to take the edge off my hunger. At least I made it a whole 4 hours before the hunger beast attacked!

Seems you need more fills! I've had five fills and I'm still not at restriction. It's a gradual process and we just have to be patient. Trust me, I know how hard this is. I am struggling with this myself right now.

do you have another fill appt scheduled?

Hi shortgal-

I am too-short that is. (5'2") I was banded 12/21/08, about a month after you, and I have had two fills, scheduled for third in two weeks. I have not lost weight as quickly as you have-6 pounds pre-op, and only 6 since the surgery, all in the first two weeks.

This really is much more of a struggle than I thought it would be.:wink2: I am glad I found this forum. I get more information and support here than from the doc. Not that he isn't attentive-but he isn't living this 24/7. Just knowing that I am not the only one with my particular problem is very helpful. I don't feel like such a wus complaining to him. So thanks for reminding me that I am not alone. Makes me want to go out and sing a chorus of Kum-by-ya, Si se puede! and all that stuff ha ha!

I'm so glad that it helped to take the edge off your hunger. Going 4 hours is great!

BTW, the aftertaste will go away as you get accustomed to it.

You know a lot of people on the forum call the Isopure "Isopuke", but I'm a fan and still have a glass often for the Protein boost.

I like the alpine punch, the apple melon and the pineapple/banana.

Glad you found it, too!

Kefirchick, I could have written your letter. I know exactaly what you are feeling!

Hi sfeiner:

Oh No!!!! You are two months ahead of me in band dates, and you are still hungry? That sucks!!!!!! :eek:Tell me it ain't so.

Q: Why did I think that the hunger would disappear?

A: That's what they told me. Silly me. I actually believed them.

(Thing is, I am hungrier with the band than when I was dieting preband! At least then, I could stuff my pie hole with lettuce and celery-something I can't do now.)

How many fills have you had? I am at two fills for a total of 6 cc in a 10 cc band. Doc says they start filling slower now-maybe 1/2 cc addition at a time. Next fill for me is in 2 weeks.

I was feeling the same. I was told it was a tool to help and it really wasn't helping. I just got my third fill and wow, what a difference. I have acheived restriction. I know I'll probably loosen up a bit and need another one but this is like night and day. I just had 1 cc put in since I had 6 in a 10 cc band. At 6 ccs I could eat steak easily, now I feel like I will be able to lose. Good luck and keep your chin up!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
