The Stupid S&^t we Say...

Recommended Posts

Sure but this is probably not the thread to do it. Infact I felt a bit bad posting the comment about the puddings at all as this is a thread for us to vent our head issues not to actually tell each other how to "fix them". But I'd be glad to PM it to you or post it on a recipe thread.

Oh, sorry I guess I didn't realize it wasn't something good for us to eat. I don't want it unless it's low carb so never mind. thanks for clarifying. Be well. KKG

The puddings I make are low carb at least by my definition. It has a bit more than twice the grams of Protein compared to the grams of carbs which makes it better than all the Protein Bars I've seen on the market.

I just didn't want to be responsible for turning this thread into a thread where we were telling each other what to do about our head issues, even if I was only pointing out how I wasn't following my own past advice.

I think it is good for us to have a thread where we can do a little self bashing without fear of someone giving us a tough love comeback on how what we are doing to ourselves is wrong. We already know what we are saying is wrong or we wouldn't be posting it here in the first place.

OK here is a crazy head issue.

Girl Scout Cookies. I buy them every year to support the Girls.

At the moment I have 7 boxes.

I can sell or giv away 4 and my brain is telling me keep ONE box of thin mints so you can have it later.

AHHHHH NO NO NO!

I am getting rid of all the thin mints AHHHH

My friend said she wants them and will pay for them.

How much more F'ed Up is my Brain for telling me to keep them.

LOL-----beleive me, I get the cookie thing, it is knowing they are there!! Mine from last year, are still in the door of the freezer!!!

This year I supported the girls, and bought the Cookies, and put them in the Troops for the Troops box----they will be mailed out to military troops, they gave us a Sharpie marker to write messages on the box.....the woman next to me wrote "Standing here trying to decide what to write, these Cookies have already lasted longer than the last box!" Made me laugh. Hope the sale is over soon!!!!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
