Welcome, Ky!

I just joined this forum yesterday and have read a lot of great things from a lot of people. Congrats on your surgery! I can't wait to have mine done -- should be in March or April. I have to lose weight to have weight loss surgery -- by BMI is too high! Anyway, you are so positive and sound happy, so you have encouraged me with your message. Thanks!

I'm from the Gulf coast in Texas, so I always considered myself a southerner, but you really are living in the south!!! I'd love to visit Australia. It looks so beautifully unique!!

Hope you continue to do well!

Katie

G'day Ky..

All my immediate family are Aussies.....I'm the only born in the USA. They all live in Melbourne and I was just out for a visit a few months ago. Australia is the best!! I was banded on 2/5 and so far so good. Look forward to having you on the Boards!!

Cheers,

Amy

One day ill fly without an extension belt, when they carry it from one end of the plane to the other and they seem to talk to loud i just cringe...I was never a flyer i was scared stiff of heights...I love the heights I just cant wait to take my lil man up in a plane and not worry bout how big I am!!!!

Heya Katieann

I had to lose weight too and I was scared I wouldnt do it. I couldnt take the Protein shakes they made me pretty sick so I went on a really high protein low carb diet.... day 3 was my hardest but by day 5 I didnt crave any carbs and i can tell ya I AM THE CARB QUEEN!!!

I didnt feel hungry coz i grazed on food all day. If you want i can give u a list of al the things I ate.

I didnt at first get y they want u on high protein so i investigated i feel so cleva lol

first is that they want your liver to shrink as much as possible and when you eat carbs and protein together your liver works hard to process the carbs so it doesnt turn to fat where as protein turns to muscle...if you dont eat many carbs the liver can start working on the stores of fat (carbs) you already have in your system and the protein you eat goes straight to giving you energy!!!

and omg it works lol but only in the short term i couldnt live a life without carbs but i swear now I will limit them coz I understand how my fatty lil body works lol

good luck hun

lilo im in brissie at the moment but I am hoppefully one day moving back to the gold coast originally i come from NSW thats where home will always be for me!!

You can all do this guys! There are a few of us more seasoned Aussie banded folk on this board too.

The question is what are we seasoned with

A big "Hello and Congrats" from Brisbane!

Hi Just thought Id drop a note saying hi to all the Aussies back home who have bands - Im currently living in Ireland and looking to have a band fitted in March in Brussels . Hope you are all doing really well with you journeys, Australia is leading the way with the use of the band, doctors here in Ireland hadn't heard of it till I printed off research from back home Simone
