Does your HUSBAND/ WIFE know your weight????

Recommended Posts

Okay here is a question for everybody. Does your husband or wife know how much you weigh? Or how much you weighed at your heaviest?

As for me...my husband does not know and I won't let him near a scale while I am on it. It seems stupid..but I don't want him to know I weigh more than him. (As if he couldn't tell!!!)

My husband I don't really think ever knew exactly how much I weighed until I started looking into getting my band. Now he knows and I think it helped him realize that I do need help to lose this weight. He has been very suportive and has seen me struggle to lose weight for a long time.

"as if he couldn't tell" !!!!

Ya, not much hiding it, my DH is 5'10" 170lbs. I am 5'5" and 220. I have never weighed less than him, even on our wedding day when I took diet pills my sister-in-law gave me and got down to 168, He weighed 165. Humph. He knows, I've been talking about it too much lately. My big mouth is apparently more important to me than my privacy, but that's nothing new. hehehe

Same with me...not before I was banded and certainly not what size clothes I wore! LOL But he knows now. Something about that little band, losing weight, and buying smaller clothes really helps you tell those things.

My hubbie does not know because my first goal was to weigh less than him and when I did he went an lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks which pissed me off so much I don't share anymore. I now weigh 10lbs less than him! :)

Mine didn't until the band, he knew it was getting up there, but he had no idea how high it had actually gotten at one point. He knows now, and in the last month I've finally gotten to a lower weight than he is. I haven't weighed less than him in nearly 10 years!

Hi,

My husband did not know my weight until long after I was banded. But now I tell him what I weigh everyday to keep me on track. Of course it helps that I now weight at least 50 pounds less than him..... I was always afraid to tell him, but I am sure that he had some inkling...

For a long time I didn't know how much my DH weighed, but well neighther did he... Dr's office scales wouldn't go that high.

He now knows how much I weight. My son asked me yesterday how much I weigh, getting ready for my band and all, and I told him. He was impressed and told me that I sure cary my weight well. Such a golden tounge on that boy...

My husband didn't know my weight in the beginning... but I decided to share the dirty details when I started the lapband journey... we were newlyweds and it was very hard for me to share that I outweighed him... by A LOT. I finally weigh less... and he can put his arms around me comfortably... pure joy... I tell ya!

My weight has always been the most closely guarded secret since the location of the keys to Fort Knox. My brother has been asking me for DECADES to spill the Beans. In typical brotherly fashion he'd "guess," giving estimates ranging from 100 to 500 lbs and asking me if he was "getting warmer." :rolleyes I now weigh about 50 lbs LESS than he does and I get a lot of pleasure from sharing that with him. :devious

My husband is a gentleman and has never asked, even though during our relationship I have outweighed him by anywhere from 70 - 100 lbs. It just dawned on me as I write this that at this very moment I might weigh the same or less than he does!! Will I tell him? I don't know. He knows the big milestones of size and so on, and when my loss went into the triple digits I had to tell him that. But I've never come right out and admitted to a number in his hearing.

My weight has been closely gaurded although my husband would never even think of asking me. He is not concerned about the number, only in how I feel. My weight does not affect his feelings for me. "What a guy"! My weight, I feel, has held us back as a couple many times. For example....on a recent cruise I would not go to the hottub as I was embarrassed in front of the other people. He went by himself. Many times he would go in a pool by himself or on a carnival ride as I was embarrassed or afraid of not fitting in a seat, etc... These are some of the reasons I want to be banded, among many.

Waiting to be banded,

Robyn

Starting weight 310

Weight now...two-dles to the 3's-288lbs

Goal- 150

My weight was a secret from both my husband and me before surgery. (Maybe if I had gotten on the scale a little more often maybe I wouldn't have blown up to 282) He and I both have the band, so, once I started losing I told him what my start weight was. Me 282 him 248. So as you can see he was smaller, and is still smaller than me by about 35-40 pounds. Of course, I am bigger than him too. I am about 5'8 he is 5'6 and I have bigger features including feet which of course those feet have to weigh at least 5 pounds extra lol

My husband never knew my weight until I went for the band, The day before surgery I told him. He has always been supportive of me regardless of my weight.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
