I want to join you guys!!! I was banded on 12/12 and now I am comitting my self to the gym! I am curious though, do you recommend cardio and weights? Or start with one, then when you plateau, add the other? Thanks

Brandy

Hi all - I am in Feb Challenge on Sparkpeople, may as well keep track with all of you well. Love the tracking over there, but the boards over here.

My plan: C25K - the three workouts/week and work in some additional workouts, maybe alternating swimming and elliptical on non-run days.

Glad to have you!!!! i would start slooooow. I started with about 25 mins swimming 6 days a week. That did wonders!. i worked it up...added weight lifting...did couch to 5K ...added bikeing....added spin class...

Cardio is imprtant but building muscles is also excellant and zapping calories. In other words the denser your muscle the more calories they suck up to keep them going. Weight lifting is way overlooked by most women as they think they will get all muscley...this is not true.

Stef, you can put me down for another 2 lbs lost. I am like Jess, I am now only 10 lbs shy of 100 lost. I'm not sure when I'll hit it though. I've got a "guys" weekend coming up. I don't plan on drinking like I did last year, but the diet won't be great. I'll just have to work extra hard to make up for up before and after.

Sidenote, I started doing interval training on the elyptical machines in Cardio Cinema at the gym this weekend. I'd forgotten all about that until some of you started talking about it recently. Thanks for the reminder. It was great and added a little something extra to think about instead of thinking about how much I had left to do.

Congrat Ceraded!!! You can do it!!!

Thanks Jess. I just noticed we were banded 2 wks apart. It's nice to see another one in my time period getting "it". Keep up the good work. As I stated, you'll probably hit 100 sooner than me, but I won't be far behind.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
