I have had a fill since mid September of 1cc I am still very very restricted. It was the only fill I have had. Have gone from 225 to 175 in about 28 weeks. I just wonder when I will need a fill. I know everyone is different, but for the first year after my surgery I get free fills( I am a self pay) I hope I get to use the free fill before Aug.

I just wonder on some of you bandsters how long your fills tend to last.

My surgery was April 6th 2004 lost 20 lbs in the first 9 weeks

My first fill was June 7th lost another 20 with this fill

My second fil lwas August 17th lost 32 with this fill

My third fill was Jan 17th and have lost 7 lbs with this one

for a total of 80 lbs

No one knows how long there fills last it is a personal thing , for me it was when I stopped losing for consecutive weeks following the rules and was able to eat more per meal. I would have to say my 2nd fill was the best, this 3rd fill is strange, my restriction comes and goes, plus the last 20 lbs is the hardest to lose since I am close to goal..

Hi Daisey Mae,

In my case a fill typically "lasts" as long as it takes me to lose 20 or so pounds. As you say, everyone is different, but so far I've been very aware of lessening restriction as I lose weight. This last fill, though, was 17 pounds ago and has shown no signs yet of lessening.

Sounds like you're doing great! Do you still feel the same level of restriction as you did shortly after your fill? How hungry do you get and how hard is it to stay satiated after eating? And has your weight plateaued for more than a month or so? You probably don't need a fill unless you're having trouble with these issues. It certainly might happen before August, but you may be one of the lucky ones who does great on very little fill.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
