How much weight have you lost?????

Kristin, Maybe you could try a differant fill center. 20 pokes is crazy, my fill center(fill center USA) does a blind fill and has always hit it on the first time. I wouldn't have much faith in them. Just keep the faith I'm sure it will come to you, good luck

I actually called Fill Centers USA and the only reason I hesitated was because of the fact that it is not under flouro. But I am not so sure the flouro matters if they know I have a Realize band. The other frustration is that I always ask them how much is in total and they never tell me. I guess I am no longer "feeling the love". I loved the actual surgeon, Dr. Horgan. He is wonderful. BUT, after your initial post op appointment with him like a week after surgery, you never see him again. So, I think I am going to just deal with the tightness and then the next time, I will take you up on your suggestion. Their pricing is a lot better too. The initial is expensive $345 or something like that, but that is a consultation with the doctor. He is not a surgeon, but ALL he does is fills, so that is likely why he are able to nail it. Then after the first fill it is $165. Is that what you pay?

Thanks again for the suggestion. Would love to hear fro any other folks that have used them.

Kristin

Yes that's what I pay But I really think it's worth it at least the lady that does mine. I have a 10cc band with a 9cc fill level and my first fill was 3.8 and second fill brought me up to 4.4, she will give me what I need no matter the amount instead of just what they think you should have.

Condrats, that's fantastic. Can't wait to see how it feels, I'm .5 lbs from it. And can't quite get there.

Hi Ladies. I have never been to this forum before, I like that it is age specific because it brings up many different issues, let's face it our bodies don't work the same as they did in our 20's. First off, congratulations to miss meliss on hitting "onderland". And congrats to everyone who has chose to make your lives healthier and happier. With that said Krissyjean: Be careful with being too full. Sometimes that can cause you to make unwise food choices because that is all that goes down well. You definately need to find someone that can get it in one poke. I know that going other places sounds expensive, but in the long run it is worth it because it will keep your weight loss on track and it won't mess with you emotionally like it has now. Don't worry about how slow you are losing right now if you are exercising and eating right. I too, was a slow loser. The benefit? I have no hanging skin, ANYWHERE! Think of the money you will save on tummy tucks, and lipo! Don't look for the mythical "sweet spot". For me that never exsisted. But that does not mean it won't exsist for you, just don't keep waiting for it. For me it has taken quite a bit of willpower, that I didn't think when I began that it would. You learn day by day what works for you. If you have any questions I will be happy to share any info that I have learned over the years. I think I have been through a little of everything. Anything, just ask. Good Luck

I was banded 7/01/08 (started pre-op liquids on 6/21 and lost 24 pounds as of day of surgery) and have lost a total of 72 pounds! I will go a week or two or three bouncing around the same 3 pounds and then it will finally stay off. Then the same thing over again. I really don't feel that I am "restricted" yet and I have had 3 fills plus the 4cc put in during surgery for a total fill of 9.5cc in a 10cc band. I go in next week for another fill. I HATE drinking Water and want my diet cokes back! I also have to force myself to get any exercise at all, mostly walking. So I am one of those people who needs a "hard stop" from the band ---I need it to forcefully control the quantity I eat and I'm not there yet.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
