Dr. John Bagnato - Bagnato Bandits

I am doing well. I had a second fill a couple of weeks ago and have been having a hard time finding foods that do not hurt when I eat them but i think that is part of the learning experience of the band. The plus side of it is my weight is falling off really fast. I talked to Maleek and she said as long as I am getting in enough liquid and Protein to keep my metabolism up I will be fine, but as it stands right now anymore than three bites of anything and I am uncomfortable so i may need a slight unfill but w will give it a while longer.

Your weight loss is going well too. Keep up the good work. Take care.

Hi Bandits. I'm back at work today (surgery was Wed, 1/30) and finally starting to feel better. I saw Dr. B yesterday and he emptied my band and the spasms I was having in my esophagus stopped. These spasms were so painful and drinking triggered them even more so I got a little dehydrated and was getting weaker everyday. Now that I'm no longer having any pain, I'm drinking like a fish, eating mushy stuff and on my way to feeling like myself again!

Your get-together sounds fun, but it's so far for me to drive especially on a school night....I guess I have to pass. Maybe you'll have one on a Saturday sometime???

I'm so glad you are feeling better! Pretty soon you'll be feeling normal again. We'll miss you at the meeting, but I completely understand. We will try to meet on a Saturday sometime. Good luck at work today!

Mia

Your band will usually have some residual Fluid in it when it is placed. It i not actually a fill just the fluid that wa already in it. I had 3cc in mine, first fill took me to 4cc and second fill took me to 5cc, now i can really feel the restriction. I may go have a little taken out. Take care and keep us informed on your progress.

Just wondering how you are feeling? I hope you are feeling better, the flu/virus stuff can make you feel miserable. It looks like it wil be just you and me, if you are feeling up to it. I know it's a long drive for you, so if you want to, we can postpone the meeting until we can get up enough people to come. It's totally up to you. I'll be happy to meet up with you and we can chat, but I understand if you would rather wait. Just let me know and we will go from there. Hope you feel better soon!

I'm feeling somewhat better, but not great. Maybe we should just postpone. I'm going to try work today, but don't know if I'll feel well enough for the drive after a full days work tomorrow.

Thanks for working this - I know it must take quite a bit of time to facilitate it.

Nip, I'm glad you are feeling a little better. I think we should postpone as well. I'll post a cancellation notice and also PM a few people that may not have read about the cancellation. Hope you feel better soon!

Hey everyone! This month's support group meeting has been cancelled. Due to unexpected circumstances, many were not able to attend. We will definitely reschedule it and I will post the new time and date at a later time. Thanks for all your cooperation.

Hi Everyone- just wanted to post a quick update- I'm trying hard to stay on plan and at around 1000 calories a day. Its hard- especially with zero restriction. I'm also moving my big rear and walking a mile every day! I will be glad to get a fill on Friday and back to being able to eat only small amounts. It's comical (almost) that just a few weeks ago I was whining about not being able to eat 'normal' foods and wishing for the days when I'd be able to eat them. Now I'm wishing I could go back to the restricted feeling. LOL. I swear I am a gas factory. LOTS of foods and even exercise I find, gives me gas- or lets me expel the gas- LOL. I'm feeling much better about having my port revision and am slowly but surely coming out of that depressed mood that I had gotten into. I appreciate everyone who msg'd me and checked on me. I will update on Friday as soon as I'm home from the procedure. Thank the lucky lord Dr. B says I don't have to have the zappy wrist thing again- Its crazy, but the only thing I really am dreading is the darn IV- which should tell any newbie that the actual procedure is not that bad at all!! Everyone's progress looks great! Hopefully soon I'll be back to seeing the numbers go DOWN!!

Mia- I am so glad you are starting to feel better about the procedure. You have done such a great job and congratulations on exercising! I haven't been exercising as much as I should, but I am going to start doing better. I'm so glad you don't have to wear that zappy wrist thing, LOL. Keep your head up and stay positive, you're going to do great!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
