It Snowed!!!!

Bright

Recommended Posts

Ok, I know that you guys get TONNES of snow over there, but we were thrilled to see a gorgeous white blanket of snow this morning here in Ireland! Well I was anyway! It was only two or three inches but we hardly ever get snow that stays on the ground - it looked so beautiful! I walked my son to school and it was such fun - even tho I ended up with my new suede boots all wet and actually fell on the way home (!!) - despite soggy boots, sore knees, wet jeans, I love it!!!!

Sadly it's melting already but I took some pics.....

(sorry to bore you Alex, I know you're sick of snow already! :) )

Beautiful pictures Bright. I had enough snow to last a lifetime, but it always makes me smile to see people that never get to see it be able to. Enjoy it!

We have had such pretty weather here that my flowers are all coming up. My cannas are about 8 inches tall already. My elephant ears are getting big too! We have a cold front moving in, so this week is back in the 50's, just so we don't get a freeze and kill all my flowers.

it's been so depressing here with loads of rain - everything's muddy and dark so the snow seems so clean and bright! Can't wait for the spring either...tho that means even more rain here!!! sighhhhh.....

thanks Greg will do - just heard on the news we are to have maybe 4 more inches tonight - and the temp will go below -3 (centigrade!) - yay!!!! My husband goes to the east coast USA a lot for work, and to Minneasota (sp??!!) and when I called him to tell him the good news (!) he told me to get over myself! Nice!

Well, Bright, I'm glad to see someone enjoying the snow! We got another 6" or so on Sunday night, and another dusting last night. I don't mind it so much in February, though, since it warms up during the day and we can see that spring is on its way.

Enjoy it, Niamh!! Send us pix of the snowman you build with your son. :):D :D

Thanks for posting the pictures, Bright. I like snow too -- good thing, since I live in Chicago -- and will gladly take a cold sunny day with snow on the ground over a gray rainy one. Remind your husband that Minnesota has had a mild winter this year. . . maybe you should greet him with a snowball when he arrives home from the US!

I love the snow too! Of course, Seattle's weather is very much like yours Bright, our rainy season starts in late Sept and ends in July... We generally get a light dusting of snow every year, and a couple of inches is enough to paralize the entire Puget Sound area! We're very funny.

Of course, I'm now in Idaho, and we've still got snow from December hanging around.

I have to laugh at what the people in So Cal are saying. (yes I know, the floods and hillslides are no laughing matter. Sorry, I'm very insensitive...) "We've had rain for a entire week!" Try having rain for a "double-biblical." I'm jsut a jerk, what can I say.

..........fun of snow wearing off....everything melting and slushy - took me ages to get the snow off the car (had to use a fish slice!) and when I opened the door to take a pic of the kids, they whacked me with a pile of snow - so I'm soggy again....here's the guilty faces!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
