Anyone Else Disgusted By The Cretins Who Invoke "god" To Explain Anything They Want?

Recommended Posts

"However I am not going to push my beliefs on you or "make" you believe what I do. What I am going to do is thank God whenever and however I feel to. Thank God it is still a free country!"

Jaymie, you'd make a quality Unitarian.

I usually am succinct on this whole subject, so I'll try to be again:

Religion is not the truth, God is. Live well, respect well, and leave this earth at least as good of a place as you entered it. Do these things and any God I'd be proud to be a part of will accept you into his good graces. If believing in one particular doctrine is the only way to enter Heaven, then I eagerly await Hell.

What a fantastic ethos! I may have found a branch of Christianity that I agree with! Thanks Kago :wink2:

I'm not really sure if I have beliefs and I still feel this post doesn't deserve a comment. I really feel it should be deleted.

Well, I consider myself a secular humanist and i dont buy into the whole 'god' thing either. HOWEVER, who the hell are you to go around and call people retarded? Dont you have any f*cking manners? You are demonstrating that you are, in fact, the one with minimal brain activity with a post like that.

...But conveniently duck behind the "free will" bullshit anytime anyone asks about why six million Jews were slaughtered by the nazi's? Or why a perfectly innocent baby is allowed to get murdered by it's drugged out/psychotic/sadistic parents?

If I hear one more brain dead turd thanking "god" for their accomplishments at an award show I think I'm going to vomit.

Perhaps the saddest part of all is that these brain, dead poor excuses of protoplasm have the right to vote.

Ughhhhhh

Your post, Draz, most certainly does not present you or your cause in an attractive light. This would be because you have salted your extremely simplistic argument with vulgarities, insults, and grammatical mistakes. (Neither Nazis, a plural noun, nor the possessive pronoun, its, should be apostrophized; and Nazi should be capitalized as this is a proper noun.) I am also an atheist. If you want to make a point, this ain't the way to do it.

Can anyone say TROLL!!!

nasty%20troll.jpg

I'm ashamed to say I got fooled by this and I hope that nobody thought that my post was in support of the OP. Although I am not Christian, I respect all beliefs and should have paid closer attention to the tone of the subject to have recognized it for what it was.

Yeah, we don't get many trolls in here, so it is easy to be caught unaware. Trolls like nothing more than seeing people get all het up and responding to their posts with outrage. All I can suggest is:

We've had a few troll efforts (I could count them on both hands) in the time I've been here. I don't think many aren't able to recognize them for what they are. If you can't, post count is usually a dead giveaway. Sometimes we bite, knowing they're trolls, because it can still make for a fun discussion.

I agree with Wheetsin. Trolls can be kinda fun.

Me too. I like catching them up in their own "logic". Kind of like a good place to sharpen the claws.:wink2:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
