You look great !

Although I am not near goal yet, when I was a teen and took off 135 lbs on my own I had a very hard time wrapping my head around my new body size. Seeing myself on video really helped. Conversely when I started to pack on the pounds again I didn’t see myself as I truly was. Now I am trying focus on how I feel and how my clothes fit since I don't trust what I see anymore.

I am in the same boat. Recently everyone has noticed the weight loss and I have started getting compliments. In the mirror though, I feel the same. I have lost 81 pounds since last February. I hardly had any pictures of myself before the surgery, but one popped up on my computer last week and I was SHOCKED. It was close to my high weight. I showed my husband and he couldn't believe it. I still have a long way to go so I just hadn't realized how far I had come. I started taking some pictures so I could compare them. It's amazing when you see the proof.

You look great! I hope to look that good in 20 more pounds!

I'm in the boat with Tricia -- I don't actually think I look as big in a mirror as I actually clearly am in photographs. I'm horrified at what I see! :) I've always thought the same body parts were equally horrible back when I weighed 140lbs (the Good Old Days!!) and I now I realize that I've had a bad body image forever. Will that ever change?

I just posted a thread about this. I've lost about 80 pounds and people keep saying how "great" I look. I know I've got to lose about 30- 50 pounds more... but, I still think I'm fat. I was talking to someone today and she had the same size, and I said... NO way... you can't be. She said we could switch pants... and I asked my students if I looked about the same weight, and they all said yes, It was shocking!

 I've always thought the same body parts were equally horrible back when I weighed 140lbs (the Good Old Days!!)

I also HATED when the scale got up to 140! I was HUGE in my eyes.

135, 145, 155,165,175,185,195,205,215,225,235,245,255,265......(kept my numbers going for effect, sorry).

I would give anything to see ANY of those numbers again......at each stage I was horrified...even the lower 100's....

Been forcing myself to take a lot of photos. I have to get comfortable seeing myself in pictures.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
