I go for the WLS seminar at the end of March, is anyone on this board going then too? I'd like to know someone beforehand!

Cyndi,

That is all we can do is one day at a time. That's all I do. Life is too short to get all stressed out.

If I can be of any help or support I would be happy to help. I have not had the surgery yet, hopfully by June, I have about 2-3 more months of the 6 month diet Cigna requires.

Babbs, my husband works on the presses in as a roll tender. He's been there over 12 yrs.

I have lost 20 lbs since meeting with Dr. Forgione, and 50 total since June last year.

Leese,

All I can say about your subsequent visits is show that your trying, and they will be happy at least Ellen will be, if that is who checks in with you. I've actually been told to slow down and ended up jepordizing myself, so now I have to get back into that frame of mind where I was when I was loosing so well. I feel like they jinxed me by telling me to slow down. However I also don't want to take the chance of not getting approved by Cigna either.

Hi All,

I haven't been on for awhile due to college courses, work, kid's sports, life etc...I am sure you get it.

I am still losing weight, but it is very minimal. I last saw Dr. Forgione in March and he refused to tighten me up. I feel like I still eat too easily and if it were a little more difficult I would think more about what I am putting in my mouth.

I am going to try to see him again soon.

I have a question though for lap banders...have certain types of food effected the way it is digested in your system and passes through? For instance, I feel that when I eat salad greens and strawberries they go right through me and I am crampy for about 2-3 days. "Bad" foods don't seem to give me bowel trouble, but healthy foods tend to. Am I nuts? Thanks to all those who respond. Summer is almost here...although I am wearing a turtleneck and sweatshirt today.

To be honest salads and fruits do that to me anyways and I am being banded on the 16th of June  The Fiber -especially since lettuce and such has so much Water in it does tend to cleanse me out.

When were you banded? and if you don't mind me asking - you certainly do not have to answere- how much have you lost since the banding?

I was banded at FAHC by Dr. Forgione and I have only lost about 30 lbs.I had expected to loose more. But, Dr. F did say it is 10% band and 90% of my effort. I try to exercise, but it is not my priority. So, I do understand I am at fault as to the slow weight loss.

Well it is 18 days until surgery and I am really becoming anxiety ridden these days - what if my blood gas test doesn't come back ok? is it going to hurt?

Any thoughts?

How is it going since surgery? Are you back to work Monday? (If you work).

Hello, it is going ok. I have good moments and then not so good moments. I go back to work on July 7th, I was lucky enough to have time built up for leave and I really I have to say I need it.

Hi. I'm looking for VT buddies. I thought Pats_Laps was supposed be the site to go to, but no one seems to log on there. I am having surgery on 7/21. Having second thoughts, nervous, etc. Did anyone else experience.

On the 10 day liquid diet now, and hungry almost every minute! frown.gif

Hi Boos! I wish I could help but I'm in the final stages and hopefully about to get a surgery date for late August/early September. I know we have at least one person (Babbs3772) who just had her surgery in the middle of June. Hopefully she (or some of the others who have been through it already) will be able to help you! Good luck! I'm sure that the nerves and second thoughts are normal, at least from what I've heard.

Think positive!

Amber

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
