Home & Banded

I know what ditsy(ditZy in "American") means since we have that word in our vocabulary too, I was just confused if you meant to say dizzy instead of ditsy, since the word dizzy seemed more appropriate in the context!

Hi every one, I was banded on Wednesday and came home from hospital yesterday. I felt awful, dizzy, nauseous and had a really bad headache. I worked out that it was the capadex pain killers that I took before I left the hospital so stopped taking them. After a really bad headache all night the fog has lifted and I now feel ok. I'm sip, sip, sipping on my fluids but I know I won't get through all of the ones the dietician wants me to have. I'm walking around the house but am very bored counting how many tiles I have. Thanks for all the good wishes. I will post more in the next couple of days.

Saleel,

Glad to hear from you, sorry you didn't feel so well to start! I bet you will get better, you seem very strong and I am sure you can get through it!!

Take care

So glad to hear you are doing better saleel. I will be 2 weeks out tomorrow and almost all my port pain is gone. I'm still gassy, but I don't know if thats the surgery or just my normal self:ohmy:

Hi Nikki, Sorry that you have been having port pain. I was dreading that but thank goodness it hasn't happened. I'm just getting a little wind pain in the chest area but it doesn't last too long. I get a bit lazy now and then sitting in front of TV and using the laptop so I then make myself get up and do laps around the house.Very Boring though. I went for a walk around the park yesterday and today which was good.

Thanks Chuckles. Are you still trying to decide about getting banded?

Saleel22

Hi Saleel, No, I am not still deciding. :girl_hug: I absolutely know that I want to, just waiting on a way for it to become a possibility. That is, I am a self-pay, and am wondering if I can get this financed or what. SO far, no luck. I am still hopeful though, praying for something to happen so I can get this surgery! Thanks for asking. Take care.

That's great Saleel, glad to hear you are getting better. I've only just started getting port pain, for some reason. I see my GP tomorrow and my dietician/surgeon next week. I've lost 3 kilos this week, how are you going, or haven't you weighed yourself?

Jen

Hi Jen, Yes I weighed but I am trying not to from now on, at least until my appointment next Thursday. Lost around 4 kilos though so you have got to be happy about any losses instead of gains.

Hi Chuckles I hope something works out for you. I am supposed to be fully covered from my fund but my Dr charges $5,600 out of pocket. The anaesthetist is $500 out of pocket as well. I'm hoping there aren't any other surprises. Good luck with getting the finance to help you fund this op.

Hi Chuckles,

I number of people have used some of their superannuation to fund their surgery when they don't have private cover. Maybe you could try that!

I'll be about $3500 out of pocket I think, but I'll know more once I have gone to my fund this afternoon,

Jen

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
