I'm debating on whether I should weigh once a week or once in the morning. The once a day thing is getting very depressing because I don't see anything happening. What do you all do?

Three times a day when I'm losing, and once a week when I'm not!

Seriously, I use it as incentive and as a warning, so I can adjust what I'm eating if I don't see results.

If I walk by the scale I usually end up on it. I agree it gets to be depressing because I am not losing as fast as others, but I keep doing it anyway.

I'm on it every morning - mostly because I can't believe it isn't moving! lol . . . but I want to know if things move . . . in any direction. I sure don't want to start putting pounds back on!

Every day!! Sometimes again in the evening if I feel that I've been particularly good or bad

I have now started taking measurements so that I can see it changing when the scale doesn't. (one more thing to obsess over lol)

I feel horrid if I can't weigh myself - like on vacation. I have to know how I'm doing.

When I was first banded, I weighed several time a day. It became like an obsession. I had to stop that because it was getting too frustrating. I now fluctuate between weighing every morning and every other morning but no longer several times a day.

I admit I am obsessed. I weight many many times a day. I bought a new scale today and I could hardly wait till I got home to see what it said! I opened it in the car! It weighs me a bit higher than my old one, sad to say. So now I hate the new one. We aren't on good terms.

I voted for once a day...but it's more like when I "feel" like I've lost or I need an early morning smile!

I get out of bed, and weigh in the buff....don't want any extra...

Hi, I am a newbie--. I weigh 3 x per week and I do it about the same time every morning. I would be curious to see what others do--I may change to 1 x per week??

Do u ever get frustrated weighing every day if the scale doesn't show a weight loss?? That's my biggest worry, I don't want to set myself up for a guilt trip if I'm not losing everyday..

I suppose you can get frustrated by it. It makes me more motivated to do something to MAKE the number change the next day.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
