that's awesome--i've heard good things about Dr. Ortiz on LBT. and, if you have a friend in the area that is very convenient. congrats on doing this!! i couldn't be happier with the decision to do this...and especially in my 20's...by making this improvement in my life now, i'll be able to truly enjoy my future.

hey everyone! Since I am only about 5'1 or 5'2 (all the doctors keep telling me one or the other) An "ideal" weight would be around 125 according to all the charts and such, but I think I would be happy with anything under about 140 in the long run. Although at this point if I lost 20 - 25 pounds and got under 200 for the first time since probably about 9th grade I think I would really feel better about myself

Hey all,

I'm 5'5" and 260lbs. My goal is 150, and once I reach that, maybe another goal of 130 :biggrin2: I would like to be an 8...maybe 10. and in my wildest dreams a 6. but i would be extreemly happy at a 8/10. I would like to lose 100lbs in a year.

My goal is to get down to 150, which will probably be a 10 or 12? My fiance doesn't want me real skinny and neither do I, but maybe after I get down there, get PS if I need it, 125 was -always- my goal weight, but it might not be attainable anymore, wear a 7/8. I would be happy under 200 though and be able to wear normal sized clothing. Right now I don't even know what size I wear, last time I bought a 32 trench coat for a costume it didn't even fit. Everything I wear has to stretch, so I buy 26/28 because I can't really get anything higher. Shirts have to be 4-5X now. I wear a 48DD bra, and even that is tight, but Lane Bryant doesn't go any higher. I would be happy in a 38 bra or under so I could buy them anywhere.

Right now I am 5'2'' and 253 ish pounds (doing my 6 month pre-op requirement). Would love to get down to a healthy weight for my height which would bev 115-130, but I literally havent weighed anywhere near that since elementary school so, like others, it is hard to know what I will look like when I get that thin. I am also on the lose weight and see how I feel and look plan. I will always have big boobs (currently 42F), no matter what I lose. Have considered a reduction afterward, but will have to wait and see what is going on in that department as well. Luckily I am hourglass shaped and carry my weight pretty well. When I do lose, I typically lose all over, so I stay proportional. Heres hoping it stays that way!

Hey lauren we sound pretty similar, I'm about 5'1 - 5'2 and have about the same bra size. When we are so short our "healthy range" sounds so unreachable since the numbers are so low!! I haven't weighed anything close to 130 since probably 5th grade. I just hope that if I loose weight my boobs don't look like saggy pancakes lol! I'm 20, I WANT them to shrink so I don't have to go to PT anymore for my back problems, I just don't want to have to pick them off the ground if I bend over lol. Good luck with everything!!!

Hey...I know what you mean about picking them up!! Could get a bit cumbersome Id think!! Keep me updated on how you are doing and I will do the same. Im also nervous about sagging skin too. I dont wanna be under 30 and look like I am wearing a skin suit. Maybe, since we are young, we will be the lucky ones....

My goal is to reach 75 KGs or less. To be able to go up and down stairs without huffing and puffing, and to wear clothes from normal shops

I've been told that if you focus on specific weight training and such that your skin will have an easier time toning and firming and such, I don't really know what kind of excersizes you can do for your boobs lol.

I'm 5'4", and for my height based on BMI range I think I’m supposed to be between 117-146 or something like that?

My doctor wants me at 130, but most importantly under a BMI of 25 (then i'm not considered Overweight any more). I'm going more for a pant size for myself I guess... I have no idea what I'll look at a certain weight. The only time I've been under 190 was in jr high and high school. I think I was in 8th grade when I weighed 140 and was a size 9?

Goal: BMI 24, 140 lbs, size 6/8 , 36 or 34 around and no smaller than a D

Now: BMI 34, 199 lbs, size 14/16, 38DDD

Start: BMI 47, 274 lbs, size 22/24, 44DDD

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
