Glad to hear from you Nikki! It wont be long now! Drink lots of Protein so you can be ready for this big day! Are they gonna check your band for slipping after you have him? My dr said the same thing about the uterus pushing on the band he said that is why mine got so tight. He said it may do it again. Anyone know if Nikki's problem is common in pg?!?

I am doing ok- I am 10 weeks now. It is going slow for me. I am sure the summer will speed things up. I am up 2-3 pounds! It maybe Water as I feel like my legs are swelling, I always swell so bad during pg! BUT luckily my bp and everything stays fine. But I will admit since getting my slight unfill I am now able to eat alot more including bread! And I been going a little crazy with the carbs!

Boo - congrats on your new neice!

Steph have you got your surg date yet?

Bman- Still like the new job?

Va - I still have weird feelings with my port, now and then a little twinge of pain, and some days it sticks out alot more then others. I have a bad habit of rubbing it, like just to feel that its still there. 8 lbs is great! I want to lose 10 this month before tt but I'm so bad, I can't get into tracking or walking. I hope to get a fill this week, maybe that'll help kick me in the arse.

Jill - whats your due date?

Boo - congrats on the new baby in the family - ohhhh I love babies! And take care of yourself, I hope you feel better soon.

my new insurance WILL consider me for the plastic surgery!! I just have to get with the Dr. and get the process started. they will pay 90% if im approved.

it will probably be awhile before it can happen, but wow... i will be able to afford it! how flippin cool is that!? my PS surgeon will submit it as a basic TT but does the whole abdomen while she is in there... tightens everything up the whole way up! she submits it as the other so insurance will pay though... too cool.

just got done doing weights and ab work tonight... a bit of yoga

tomorrow I am doing my day 3 of my Couch to 5K (week one will be done!)

got to get the rest of this weight off so I can get my flat perfect tummy (haha, yeah right!)

hey Ms. Jackie, Jill, and Steph

Bman - YEAAAAAAAAAH! That is great news about the tt! I'm so happy for you. Have you been reading the ps threads? I'm addicted.

I had gone to see a ps back in Oct who basically told me insurance won't pay and he didnt' even want to talk about it, I was so disappointed but I had also made an appt with the dr I'm with now, only he couldn't get me in until Jan. (I'm sure you all heard all this before) So last week when I found out this dr couldnt' do my surgery as soon as I wanted I called the Other dr I had seen back in Oct. He wasn't in but his PA said that they'd need to do a new set of pics and then it'd be 6 weeks to hear from the insurance. So I said well forget it, I guess I'll just stay where I'm at. (all of this was done in one hour of insanity caused by my severe disappointment over not getting my own way) All that said ... yesterday I get a call from Dr #1 - saying he heard I had called and blah blah blah, he just wanted to me to know that he hasn't had an ins. cover tt since 2005 and just be careful they don't get me in a loophole. I said well actually I double checked with them on the codes that are covered and they are for both a panny and tt, and I said I guess you could call it an act of God bc I did alot of praying. He said well I'm not out to steal other dr's patients and I won't interfer with an act of God.

So what do you think of that? Do you think he's desperate for business? He was the one with the beautiful classy facility but the outrageous prices - about $4k more then most ps. Crazy life I live.

Well, I spoke to the Plastic Surgeon.... to qualify with my insurance, I must lose over 100 lbs and maintain that loss for 18months. Soooooo, I am trying as hard as possible to work out to lose the rest.

I have to be 167 to hit the 100lbs mark. Doable, if I focus. I have to get there!

I joined the Gym at work today. Spoke to the personal trainer. I will go in tomorrow to do my evaluation and she will begin building a program for me. I can't wait!

So, once I hit 100 down. I have to wait 18 months. :) BUT it will be covered. Had I not been screwing around the last 3 or 4 months I would have already been there. Guess I know what I have to do now.

Damn Bran---can you get a second opinion? Waiting 18 months seems stupid....

STEPH...good luck w/your fill!! I think I need one too, although I did PB badly yesterday on some cheesteak....ugh that was painful!!

BOO....Hope you feel better soon!! Sending you some get healthy vibes!!

BMAN...That sucks that they're going to make you wait 18 months for the TT! You should see if your Dr. can argue that you need it sooner rather than later.

Nothing much new here...going for an interview today and one tomorrow. Talk to you all later!

I love it when you all post!

Bman - hey 18 monthes will fly by, and you'll be down so small! You must be close to 100 lbs gone now, aren't you? The gym at work sounds WONDERFUL, I wish I had something like that.

Boo - get well ((((boo))))

Va - I'd say you need a fill, time yourself. I ate 1/2 a toasted sandwich and watched the clock, I was only staying full 2 1/2 hours. But if I ate the wrong food I would pb, so I don't think the pb'ing has much to do with the fill, I think its more about how well you chew and what it was you ate.

I got on the scale this morning and I am down to 163! 2 lbs this week! woohoo - I'm going to update my ticker. I started walking with my neice again so maybe just maybe I'll get to 150 before ps.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
