Well, I made it into the flatlands! On the way to the hospital, my DH said, you know we can turn back if you want. I was shaking from shear nerves. My blood pressure was 140/70. I normally have low blood pressure. LOL. I'm doing pretty good, except for having to go to the bathroom a lot and that is not a fun experience. Getting in and out of bed is not fun! The pain meds and pain pump are very helpful, but it still sucks. How long do you think it takies to be able to move without pain? Sorry about the drugged out typing. I'm exhausted better quit. Just wanted everyone to know that I"m okay.

HEY KAREY!! Wow, so good to hear from you already!! YAY!! Not looking forward to the aftermath of pain either! I can't believe one more day and it will be my turn! I've ben following everyone's experiences and so appreciate everyone sharing! It's been a crazy two weeks, I had to get a CTscan after preop xrays showing a nodule and discovered I had a lung infection (no symptoms though) so I will finish up antibiotics Thursday..just in time!

I've had some reflux since my last fill, so had a slight unfill yesterday just in case it's way too tight after surgery. My PS has agreed to do the muscle tightening IF my faschia is in good condition and it won't disturb my previous hernia repair...I'm hoping she will be able to do that for me. I'll have an anchor cut and she expects to take off 8-12 pounds and the procedure should be about 4-5 hours. My insurance company covered a hospital bed and it arrived today, I think it will be more comfortable than my old recliner! It just seems so surreal that I am actually entering into this phase of my journey! My thanks to everyone on this board who has shared, it has helped me tremendously!!

God Bless You!

Mary:biggrin:

karey,

try kneeling on one knee into bed. its tough to describe how to do. i imagine it would be more difficult for you since you had the girls worked on as well.

i stopped pain meds Sunday nite, now i just take tylenol PM.. that knocks me out better than the lorotab did.. and i dont taste it. bleck.

the days are starting to run together now, so im really glad i posted here and my blog.. yesterday i think was a great turning point for me. today sucked due to my headache, but good movement wise.

drink drink drink... i think not having enuff liquids may have caused my headaches..

good luck, take your meds on time and let DH pamper you!!

update on my follow up appointment. I had a couple of internal stitches coming up, so she was able to remove them. She was also worried that my scar was a little to big, so she put steri-strips on it to take the stress off the actual scar. those will stay on for 2 weeks. After that, she wants me to put silicone sheets on it. She also scheduled for me to get a revision done. I have a "dog ear" on one hip and she wants to tighten up my upper pubic area. She can do this in her office under local. It is scheduled for May 21st. That will give time for the swelling to go down. Overall, she was very pleased. Also, no more binder for me. Yeah. lol

Thanks for the encouragement and support. Today is better than yesterday, but it is a painful experience. LJM: I'll think about getting into bed on my knee. HMM. Mary Petunia: So excited for you. God bless See you in the flatlands! YEAH!

i way overdid it today. very sore, extremely swollen, so much that the jeans that fit this morning with a little room in the waist were TIGHT when i got home.. and they are stretchy.

I am actually ok with my upper pubic area, but if she thinks she can make it look even better, who am I to argur? lol and i need to go in for the dogear anyway. She blocked off a 2 hour timeframe. It will be in her office under local. She said I would need a day off. So not too bad. I will probably just take that day (Wednesday) along with Thursday and Friday as vacation days just to play it safe. As for cost, she said it would be minimal, just the cost of the supplies. I can deal with that.

Hope you get some rest after overdoing it today.

Hi Everybody ~

I have an appt tomorrow afternoon to see my PS about my incision concerns, but have almost convinced myself that I am worried pre-maturely.

I have been searching all evening and found a website of a Dr. Robert Lowen in California that has the BEST info on it . . . Unfortunately, I have no idea how to attach a link here, sorry.

Anyway - it talks about the scar and about a 'ridge' that forms during healing that will eventually even out. Yay!!! That is exactly what it is - a RIDGE, I just didn't think of that word.

I am still going to see Dr. Heller tomorrow, but think I will sleep better tonight after having stumbled upon that site. I will also ask for a copy of my 'before' pics since I was such a 'doofus' and didn't take any.

I hope everyone is doing well!

Compression Wear & Bodyshaping Clothing - Male & Female Girdles & Vests

i just received mine last night (didnt see it til this morning). it is simply amazing!! (Neal, they have male garments as well if you are looking).

they custom made a garment for me and it took a day, i paid extra for 2-day shipping, but the garment and shipping was $83!! it fits like a second skin and is 10,000% better than the binder. when i first looked at it i thought no way it would fit, but with the help of DH, and stretching it, it is amazing.

i bought this one:

Nouvelle Inc

i'll be ordering at least 1 more as the swelling goes down.

*i am in no way affiliated with Nouvelle, just a very satisfied customer

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
