Nina, the booty is awesome! I know you are in love with the new you, cause I love the new me.

Mommi, it's still early, I'm almost two months out and I've still got lots of swelling in my tummy and on the sides. Fortunately, my incision is right at the hair line, actually a little low .

I have a pudgy spot, (right in the front, middle, lower section), my doctor said he may have to Lipo or redo..YIKES.

Hi Guys

Thanks you for all the lovely comments

Harley you are right I do love the new body - I just wish it would swell in such an alarming fashion!!:cursing: do you still swell up?I seem to have reached a plataeu with the feeling better each day, not that I feel worse but I just want to feel normal now, how long did it take you?

Mommi - My incision looked really high when I first saw it and I swear to god he did a hair transplant on my hoo hoo:lol: but as the skin is stretching out in the middle the scar is starting to look lower. It sounds like you are a bit too tight at the moment to me hon, that may explain the heartburn, did they do an unfill at all pre-op?

Ousooner - All I can say to you is HUBBA HUBBA..........:biggrin2:

Karey - I will see if I can get the pictures off my phone that show the bruising that I had on my legs:eek: DH nearly barfed when he saw it  They are the only thing that is still painful. they get really stiff when I stay in one spot for too long - especially when I am sat down! If there is ANYTHING that you want to know just ask, I am shameless so it doesnt matter how embarrasing it is I will try to help:wink2:

All I can say is that the first day is a bit hairy if you put that as a 10 for pain then the day after is a 3/4, so dont panic if you wake up feeling like a train wreck!!LOL

losin - My hunny bun you are being such a trooper, I wish that I had had my internet access at the hospital, I felt soooooo cut off from you all. Even in the hotel the bluddy connection was wonky! You will be amazed at how much better you feel each day, I just cant wait for your swelling to go! The woman that I travelled with had swelling similar to yours and it was well into the second week before hers even started to think about going down. She is still swollen now 3 weeks in so dont hold your breath hon, but equally dont let it get you down cos I know that my sx buddies took a while.

Love and hugs to all

Nina x

I just called and made an appt to see my PS on Friday for him to look at my incision. I finally talked my husband into looking at it last night and after he almost passed-out (the big weenie!) he confirmed that the left side looks much worse than the right side.

I really hope I am worried about nothing and that it is going to heal beautifully, but at this point I think I need to hear it from my PS to believe it.

Lynn

sorry to hear you are having scar issues, i think i may be having a dog ear forming already... sigh... ahhh, the fun of PS...

I am right there with you. I am very happy with my results, but she told me when she saw my the next day that it looked like I was going to have a dogear on my right side. Sure enough I do. She said she could take care of it in the office under local. Has anyone had this done? Do you know if they charge for it or is it part of their service to do minor revisions? Just curious. I would much rather have a little dog ear than the huge flap I had before though LOL

I agree with Neal - I'd rather have a 'dog ear' than the bulge I had before . . . I think - ???

Can somebody tell me exactly what a 'dog ear' is and what one looks like? Maybe that is what I have - ??? If so - it is a big dog though . . .

Thanks LJM - after looking at those pictures, I guess my scar doesn't look alot worse than some of those . . . It is just higher than I expected it to be and looks 'rolled up' on the left side - is that a 'dog ear?'

How are you feeling today? I hope your headache is better. I have had Migraines since I was 11 years old, so I am very sympathetic to someone with a headache.

I also wanted to ask if any of you think your band is tighter now than before your surgery?

I opted not to get an un-fill before my TT because it had taken me a full year to get to my 'sweet spot' and I didn't want to mess it up, but WOW! - I am pretty sure this little sucker has tightened up and I am really restricted right now. I am hoping that it gets better as the swelling goes down; I really don't want to have to get some of my fill taken out . . .

i did get unfilled at the direction of my LB surgeon and am glad i did... im kinda tight. i was a tad tight to begin with, so it would have been a bad situation.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
